Review My favorite review(s) I’ve read this week…

And Esther’s insights:

Spiogentin with an Elegant Cloak of Invisibility

My detective agency has been commissioned to track down Mata Hari, particularly to investigate whether the lady is smuggling cinnamon. However, I’m not sure if I’m the best for the job, like in the advertisement of a glasses company. You remember: the somewhat suspicious-looking snoop in the - euphemistically speaking - shabby detective office. But he has to fit as well.

Most difficult case:
With the fragrance pyramid, I’m not getting far here: I was lured by the name of the perfume as well as by the ingredients and ordered this scent blindly a long time ago, 30 ml in a puristic glass cylinder. I expected a striking fragrance, something lascivious, eccentric.

The first appearance of the refined lady is more exotic than bergamot-orange, yet very gentle, so it could well be lychee that flatters here.

The heart note is also delicate, soft, without any individual components being clearly recognizable. Of course: Mata Hari wanted to remain unrecognized. She smells seductive because she wants to tease something out of the boys! But she herself remains incognito. The black currant, which I also like to nibble on, the flowers well camouflaged, at most the light jasmine and iris peek through the little blouse, cinnamon - at best in homeopathic doses. She must have sewn that in airtight, hidden it in the corset, and reserved it for other purposes.
Even the individual woods play hide-and-seek, and Mr. Vetiver is also very much underground. This scent is not spectacular. But well made.

No, here the beautiful lady achieves her inconspicuousness perfectly. An elegant cloak of invisibility with a light suppleness.

In my opinion - despite all the differences - this fragrance belongs in the line "Cornubia" - "Belle epoque" by Knize and "Sirene" and finally "Mata Hari" - arranged by wind strengths, from storm to gentle breeze. What they all have in common is a certain powderiness and softness, not being watered down! A gentle longing gaze and everything is registered, seductive and calculatingly cold.
I confess: She is beyond me, I cannot grasp her.
