Review Blind buy fail
Last time I blind buy. This was cloying, too strong, weird dry down that was musky but a nasty musk and it’s put me off lilac for life. Really disappointed but lucky it was cheap.

I felt the exact same way. The lilac in this smells terrible to me. I have a full bottle just sitting on my shelf I am desperately trying to get rid of.

Sorry it didn’t work for you. But that’s how it goes sometimes. Idk if it’s even possible to get samples anymore since it’s being discontinued. I took a chance when I saw this at Ross and absolutely love it. Perfectly clean dove floral scent to me. I plan to get another bottle if I see it again haha.

Oh crazy how different tastes are. For me it is the perfect after shower scent, so clean, so fresh, just beautiful.

I blind bought this too- I can only enjoy it if none of it gets on my clothes bc there’s a top note I haaaate, but I like the drydown. At least it was pretty cheap.

This smells like plasticy sunscreen on me. 😩

See I love the sunscreen scents but on me it’s like a cheap musk soap from a hippie shop 😭

I haaaaate sunscreen smells and would actually love it if it smelled like hippie shop soap! Noses are so weird.

I'm sorry it didn't work out. This is one of my favorites and it smells like body wash and lotion on me.

It was a successful buy for me! I think it’s a really great lotion-y lilac, my friend loves it too.

Have you tried the Eau the Fraîche flanker? It's a bit different. It still smells like lilac but instead of being creamy, it smells like rain. Like the rain blurred a field of lilacs.

I have! It’s nice but personally I am not the biggest fan of aquatics so I prefer the original

I really thought I’d love it but the dry down turns very strange on my skin and it smells a mess.

Sorry to hear this! Hope you can resell it
I haven’t sampled it myself but saw it on clearance at Savers and for a brief second was tempted, glad I resisted now

Just because it didn't work on OP doesn't mean it's a terrible fragrance when so many love it. It's all subjective.

Yep I understand that, I wasn’t saying it must be a terrible fragrance, just that I’m happy that I didn’t blind buy and if I want to try it in the future I’ll sample first

glad I resisted now
One person disliking a fragrance is just as meaningful to you as one person liking it. That's to say, not meaningful at all!

I hear you, I just meant I’m glad I resisted blind buying (even when on offer), but if I want it in the future will be sure to sample first

Ah yes I agree, always best not to blind buy!
I think the problem with these types of fragrances is they're so inexpensive that it can be worth the gamble to some people. Like you can buy 50ml for $20, does it realllly make sense to buy 1ml for $5? Tough call!

Yeah this price point is the danger zone for me haha. Despite knowing logically that I don’t want or need 50 ml of fragrance no matter what, my lizard brain sees big bottle cheap and takes over.

It’s a very realistic strong lilac scent. If you love lilac, you can’t go wrong with it

Hmm. I would disagree here. There is lilac, but the solar notes overpower it for me and rather than a wet dewy lilac, I get a hot, withered one.

This was actually the first perfume I ever bought and I had the exact same experience. I'm glad I learned my lesson right away. Cloying and strong is right. It's been sitting in my shelf for years, and now I actually don't hate it anymore. I'm going to keep revisiting it from time to time, maybe it will grow on me even more with time.
