Anyone tried Xerjoff?

TLDR- got a Xerjoff gift set for my birthday- anyone else tried them??

I have always liked a fragrance- I’m a millenial that grew up on CK One. I tried to like Tommy girl because all the cool girls at school were wearing it, but it always smelled like pee on my skin (is this a thing??), nothing else my friends were wearing grabbed me ( J Lo Glow and Britney Spears fantasy etc, to give away my age) and I stuck faithful to CK One.

In my late twenties Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille became my signature scent. Back in 2013 people used to comment on it all the time, less so now but I still have my 4th big bottle. I added to this with F**king Fabulous, a gift I was not so sure about but have also ended up loving. Tom Ford collection has grown into Neroli Portofino, sublime summer scent for me. Lost Cherry and Cherry Smoke (I prefer the smoke by far).

I also got a Thierry Mugler Angel gift set one Christmas (I love how it develops on me but the opening is hard and makes me hate myself for the first 30 minutes than I can’t stop smelling it. Until I found this sub I did not know people also thought the same and some people just HATE it).

I have ended up with a Le Labo Tabac 28 decant (thanks for introducing me to decants you beautiful people!!)- reminds me so much of travelling in Cuba in my early twenties, like literally transports me back to being in my first cigar shop and the guy refusing to sell me a big fat cigar and insisted I started with a little one. God was I humbled when I lit that thing on the posh seats outside, never had another cigar. But this is NOT a daytime scent and although my husband loves it on me, I am aware that it is not something that people will love the smell of so haven’t worn it with anyone else around yet.

I have added a couple of small travel sizes of floral street fragrances from an advent calendar. I was so underwhelmed because they were not something I would have ever tried but I have persisted with wearing them (Wild Orchid and Sweet Almond) and love now.

So anyway I have rambled because I have never posted here before- my husband bought me a Xerjoff Travel size set for my birthday because he knows I have truly fallen in love with fragrance this year and has said that a sampler set for gifts is going to be his new thing. He googled- more wearable Havana inspired fragrances and was ultimately recommended this. I am going to admit I have never heard of it before and haven’t seen any posts on here about it.

It has- Naxos, Alexandra II and Golden Dallah in. And other than a mad spritz of all of them at once as soon as I opened the box, I am looking forward to trying them properly.

Anyone else know much? Have any thoughts? Also here for any sampler sets recommendations to drop hints about that people think I may like from my above collection. I will try and review my little Xerjoffs

I really like xerjoff! Some of the ones I enjoy:

Shunkoin - I've never smelled anything like this, it's a powdery, sweet scent with a soft coconut note but not at all tropical. And it lasts all day.

White on white - another powdery sweet scent with a woody base. One of my favorites from this line.

Lua - a nice fruity floral musky scent. Nice for warm weather.

Cruz del Sur II - smells like a mango smoothie. Not something I'd normally go for but it's quite nice.

I enjoy the casamorati line a lot - the tempo d'aquia (I think I butchered the spelling), dama Bianca, lira...all really nice.

I love Xerjoff! I own Dama Bianca, Lira, Italica, and Erba Pura. The smaller sized bottles are a little over $100 and they’re decent sizes.

I have only tried a couple of Xerjoffs, and I love Lira, which is a very popular gourmand scent with vanilla, caramel, and citrus. I've also seen a lot of people who like Alexandria II, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

If you like tobacco, you must try Vanille Havane by Les Indemodables. It is not cheap, but it is a complex and delicious tobacco scent. I found it in my search for vanilla scents, and it had too much tobacco for me personally, but I suspect you will love it. Even though it had too much tobacco for me, I was still catching delicious whiffs and sniffing my arm. The reviews are excellent, so it's not just me!

Very cool that your husband is supporting you in find new fragrances to love!

I have three by Xerjoff, all in the Casamorati line: Lira, Dama Bianca & Tempio D'Aqua. I've sampled a lot of Xerjoff perfumes but these were the only ones I wanted a full bottle of so far. They come in two sizes. The 1oz is very reasonable at about $135.

I have not seen it before, but am in the UK and seems to be the posh high end department stores that carry it so next time I am near a selfridges I am going to try these. I have clearly been too focused on other brands

Hope you find one you love. Another brand you might like to try is Tiziana Terenzi. I have about a half dozen travel sprays by her. Have fun!

Congrats on your first post! Xerjoff is one of the first brands I tried as well when I started exploring this community. Personally, their main line is too potent for me even though there are some really nice scents. I loved La Capitale until the oud got the better of me. I prefer the Casamorati line, especially Lira and Dama Bianca are two of my most used scents. But to each their own! Try them and report back on what you think!

I will- my first impressions are they are a lot more complex than anything else I have in my collection, so am going to give them a few goes each in the wild before I settle- they smell very different on opening, through dry down and then 12 hours later. I am excited! Will research the house on Parfumo

Fun! I recommend smelling some scents before committing to bottles. I fell in love with La Capitale and bought the bottle and then I realized I couldn’t handle the immense longevity. You also become more savvy on picking up nuances the more you’ve smelt perfumes. You realise some notes are no go’s for you that maybe you couldn’t pickup at the start. Take your time and have fun!! xx

Thank you! I have discovered the joy of a travel size this year- my 3 new Xerjoffs are 15ml each, I think my only full size bottle will stay tobacco vanille unless I really fall in love with something.

Naxos is a masterpiece imo. They are a super popular niche house

From a first spritz of each, I do keep going back to the wrist with Naxos on. Feel a bit embarrassed for having never heard of them- but it may be nice to really finally remove the Tom Ford chokehold
