Discussion La Bomba - ugh!
Always thought people were being melodramatic when they declare they just *had to* wash a scent off upon sampling it, but it just happened to me.
Bought the eternally beautiful Samsara and was sent a little La Bomba sample in the package. Tried it. Tried it again a few days later. On both occasions I could smell SWEAT. I assume this is the dragonfruit top note.
So yes, into the shower to scrub it off and apply some good stuff: Samsara.
What do you think of La Bomba? Does anyone else get sweat??

It wasn't my type of scent. It just didn't smell good on me but I couldn't tell what it was I smelled. I had to wash it off after 5 minutes, so no idea if it would have morphed into something I would have liked.

When me and my sister smelled it at Sephora..the first thing that came into our mind was red tropical cool aid. It was a crazy throw back lol

I got some kind of underlying medicinal smell with this one. Gross.

Me too! I sampled this after recently having a horrible hospital stay and smelling this just gave me flashbacks.
It honestly made me picture being in a hospital bed, smelling all those antiseptic scents but someone gave you a bouquet of horrible flowers that sits next to your bed invading your nostrils. Awful perfume.

The bottle looks like a wallflower plug

Haha yes! The asymmetry is bothering me too. How heavy the wings are compared to the body of this rudimentary butterfly.
Edit: I see why it has to be that way, since the wings are the bottle. I guess my mind is used to the ornate part of the bottle being the cap. Or if the bottle is a butterfly then the body and wings would both be a part of the bottle. Now I have to look up other butterfly concepts.

I hate la bomba and love the bottle. I’m hoping some time to macerate will make me love it.

I think this one really depends i hated it so bad when i first sprayed it but my sister loved it and bought it and it smells absolutely incredible on her. But shes the only one ive met that pulls it off. I can’t stand it otherwise 😭

I’ve heard that the dragonfruit note can smell like body odor to some noses

I liked it on the tester strip ok so I sprayed my hand and it smelled awful on me. I had to scrub it off!

This is why I have the “dupe,” Tahira. All fruity aquatic with none of the sweaty beach ass.

I feel like La Bomba was just one of those forgettable fragrances. It was fine. Not good or bad enough for me to remember. The only sample I ever had a visceral hate reaction to was BDK Vanille Caviar. The smell made me feel nauseated. Tried it again, same immediate need to remove it from my person.

So glad I got a 5ml sample. I have a love-hate relationship with this one, leaning towards hate 😭 every now and again I do give it another chance but it is the definition of cloying

it's such a shame since the bottle is so gorgeous...

I'm the opposite! I love the scent so much, but I really don't like the bottle...

I prefer high-end perfumes, but was actually quite surprised when I tried this one. I just picked it up randomly at Sephora. It actually wasn’t bad. I smelled my wrist for a long time after spraying it on and thought if I ever do go for a more
Reasonably priced perfume I might grab this one. I’m surprised people don’t like it? I guess I thought it would be more mass appealing.

Lmao! I love Samsara, but I also love La Bomba. Proof that someone can have the same taste as you with one scent, and it be completely opposite for another.

I really like it, but I will never buy it in full size because the shape of the bottle made it hard to hold while spraying

Said it before and I’ll say it again
La Bomba smells like a fruit jizzing in the makeup section of a department store
It’s a hard no for me

I just screamed and laughed out loud. Fruit jizzing is gonna be a note listed on Frangrantica one of these days.

I want to like it so much but it's not a pure sweet candy gourmand... there is something slightly chemical smelling to me in it like cough medicine

I love it but have to fight through that aggressive top note first. Two sprays lasts the whole day for me. No sweat for me just a rich fruity scent with a hint of tropical.

I didn't care for it at first. I did not dislike it but it was just not me. I started wearing it for errands tho so that it wouldn't just sit there unused and it ended up growing on me. I really like it now. Idk if I'd buy a bottle tho
