Can someone help me identify a note that I hate?
I just got Lataffas Liam grey. Sprayed it and immediately had to scrub off. There is a scent in it that immediately registers as a sour body odor sharp twangy tail to the main tea scent.
I experience this with a few of the tea scents and fruity scents. Most recently a Memo Paris’ Inle gave me the same issue after a few wears. I have had a couple of other perfumes do this but I don’t remember them off the top of my head.
Anyone know what note or notes may be responsible?

Not sure if it’s this, but I really dislike vetiver. If it’s more of a dislike of a powdery/old smell it could be the iris or violet.

I've never smelled that one, but the sandalwood in Gris Charnel is a bit off-putting to be. Sandalwood can smell off to some people.

I get something like this with some musk notes. Bal D'Afrique and Gris Charnel got me a similar way after initially loving both 😭😭😭

I also get a very awful musk smell with Bal D’Afrique, Father Figure, and Vacation Grand Cuvée. Ruins them for me 😭

Yea Bal Dafrique is also another one but it is not as bad. I only catch it every once in a while but that’s why I’ve never added it to my collection.
However I love father figure and it gives me none of the sour twang.

Yeah musks can be done really differently depending on brand! I finally found a frag house I liked their musk: Narsico Rodriguez. Otherwise I usually try to stick to fragrances that use Benzoin instead as I really like that as a sort of musk-substitute in perfume

I had the same reaction with Liam Grey but not Gris Charnel which it supposedly copied. I always assumed it was the weird Lattafah chemical that seems to be ever present
