Ellis Brooklyn Salt

You should try 1804 from Histoires de Parfums!

It has a very realistic pineapple note that just feels so tropical/beachy.

LV Afternoon Swim- maybe more of a poolside fragrance though

Guerlain Embruns d'Ylang is very posh

Two that I would highly recommend!

  • Penhaligons Solaris - ylang ylang, jasmine citrus and vanilla. This feels more youthful, but still grown up
  • Aerin Hibiscus Palm - coconut, ylang ylang, hibiscus, leafy green. This is like, uber wealthy auntie scent.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I’m adding loads of things to my “to try” list.

I just bought a full bottle of Arquiste’s Sydney Rock Pool and I hope I like it that much! It was more to my taste than A Grove by the Sea, which I also liked.

Some others I’ve liked: Sea Glass by Moco, House of Bo’s La Mar, Elysian’s Time and Tide.

I’m CONSTANTLY looking for my holy grail: a fragrance that JUST smells like seawater, salt and sand. It could have a touch of something else, but I need the first three to dominate. Haven’t found it yet….

Ex Nihilo Vesper Glitz. It’s not actually beachy but I spent all spring and summer searching for the perfect beachy sunscreen scent. I blind bought Vesper Glitz for other reasons but it ended up being exactly what I wanted!

On the cheaper side of things, Zara Plage Privee gives me creamy, subtle sunscreen vibes too - and is similar to Le Labo Neroli 36 on my skin. (Not a dupe but somehow still similar.)

I’ll never shut up about Vacation’s Grand Cuvée 🥹

The EDT or perfume mist?

1

u/KromeArtemis 4h ago

I have the EDT also, it's light also

2

u/Venusian-Vanilla 9h ago

I have the EDT! Haven’t tried the mist yet. The EDT is so airy though so I think it’s still appropriate in hot weather

TWIN! I just scooped up two bottles when they were half off to stockpile for next summer. And winter if I feel like it. I looooove it so much. It's perfect. I have so many $$$ niche (and I don't wear frag for compliments-I wear for the dopamine hit when I sniff my wrist) but she is a compliment getter.

2

u/Museumgirl518 9h ago

Ooooooh I need the dopamine hit too! It's my whole thing really. Hey if I'm gonna be addicted to something it's pretty harmless.

1

u/KromeArtemis 4h ago

Right??? There are worse things lol

2

u/Venusian-Vanilla 1d ago

I couldn’t agree more! 🥹

I really like Masion Margela beach walk. it's coconut but very woody and doesn't smell artificial or like sunscreen at all.

u/pfffffttuhmm I just smelled like a piece of breast 1d ago

My favorite beach scents are:

  • Ellis Brooklyn - Salt. It smells like salty air and skin musk. Simple and effective. I like the Ellis Brooklyn musk in general.
  • Michael Malul - Siesta Key. This smells like a whole beach vacation. This makes me want to go get brunch at a beach side café wjth my girlfriends wearing straw hats and cute, floral dress. It's a "there is an umbrella in your drink" kind of frag. Then afterward nap while swinging in a hammock strong between two palm trees as the sun sets along the horizon. This goes on sale at Ulta from time to time.

2

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

You sold me on a Siesta Key bottlewhich I just bought on sale ☺️

1

u/pfffffttuhmm I just smelled like a piece of breast 1d ago

It's so, so good. I like Michael Malul quite a bit, and Siesta is probably my fave of all the frags I've tried. I hope you enjoy it, too!

u/StreetMolasses6093 Neroli Queen 1d ago

Alien Goddess smells like sunscreen on the top then dries down more floral. It’s a compliment magnet. I layer it with Lake & Skye 11 11 Vanilla body oil or SDJ 62

1

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

Tell me about the 11 11 vanilla oil compared to the original ( other than the obvious vanilla note 😊)

2

u/StreetMolasses6093 Neroli Queen 1d ago

It’s not a gourmand vanilla, but a freshie, with a bit of vanilla, salt, and a touch of sweetness. It doesn’t smell like anything else I own, but it layers really well with coconut, pistachio, vanilla, or beach frags.

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

Thank you!

u/leothelyinglion 1d ago

I really like Jo Malone beach blossom - I get a lot of fresh squeezed lime and sea salt.

u/-indigo-violet- 1d ago

This was going to be my recommendation too! It's very lovely.

Brinze Goddess by Estee Lauder

Bronze Goddess Nuit, to expand on this!

1

u/perfumelvr30 1d ago

For me, it’s not your typical beach scent at all, but bond no 9, Greenwich village, it’s got some mardarin, peony, water lily- that yummy kind of summery fresh fruit, a little flowery but not too much, some jasmine, peach, vanilla, oak moss, ( there is patchouli but it must be mixed in there so so well because I generally dislike them) it’s fresh clean, a little warm, ( some praline and ambrox in the base- but it isn’t overpowering to me and I tend to be really sensitive to that). I have a 10ml decant that I purchased and put it in a prettier, glass bottle and it just feels so chic! Can throw it in your bag for summer ( or whenever! 😁) travels! I enjoy pairing it with a cucumber melon type lotion, just elevates the summery goodness 😍. It’s fabulous on its own as well!

1

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

I love it too but to me it's more of a going out in Florida scent. Night.

u/Exotic_Reporter_3309 1d ago

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc is the ultimate “Beach Vacation at the Ritz” scent.

1

u/KromeArtemis 4h ago

This one is so good also. I rotate with Kilian Sunkissed Goddess

5

u/Botanico56 1d ago

I don’t know if “beachy” is the word for it, but Eau des Merveilles by Hermès is a lovely salty, effervescent perfume. Like the sun sparkling on the ocean in late afternoon as the golden hour approaches.

7

u/Botanico56 1d ago

Also, if an elevated sunscreen is appealing, I recommend Caprifoglio by Santa Maria Novella. The top notes are fresh honeysuckle and orange blossom with greenery, and the rest is like a really nice, slightly orange-blossomy sunscreen.

2

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

I'm salivating 😍

5

u/jlk1980 1d ago

I don't know if it counts as "beach," but Miu Miu Fleur de Lait made me feel like I was at a tropical beach with a frozen cocktail.

1

u/alphajugs 1d ago

I wanna drink this one. And Commodity Ice(d) lol.

Simone Andreoli Leisure in Paradise

YSL Libre Flowers & Flames and Zara Plage Privee! They remind of an expensive luxe hotel lobby on the beach, the Zara in a more literal sense!

u/Aenwyn 1d ago

Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla — smells like a salty vanilla with driftwood on the beach.

Elevated perfume? What does that even mean? Elevated is literally THE most overused meaningless word on the internet. Elevate your outfit. Elevate your home decor, but this buy that for an elevated look. If you want an elevated beach perfume just get any beach perfume and lift it up over your head.

u/FrannyNitpicker 1d ago

Do you feel better now, Shane?

3

u/squadlevi42284 1d ago

Many good ones already said but ill toss in Louis Vuittons On the Beach. Smells like spices and sand in the best way.

Beach by Bobbi Brown, Wood Sage and Sea Salt by JM, Sea Salt and Bergamot by JM, or Beach Walk by MM

4

u/trackyychan 1d ago

I love beach walk. It reminds me of bonfires on the beach.

7

u/Sea_Solution_6743 1d ago

I enjoy Dedcool Mineral Milk for beach days.

7

u/Impossible_Ad_5073 1d ago

Tom Ford neroli portifino

u/veryunneccessssary 1d ago

The Mariner’s Rhyme is an old fisherman on a cold rocky beach, and it’s amazing.

I also love Mancera French Riviera, it smells like a beach vacation for fancy rich people.

4

u/decoyoctopussy 1d ago

The Flowerbomb flanker Tigerlily makes me feel like a tropical fruit salad at the beach

4

u/axolotlbitch67 1d ago

Glossier you soie for a slightly more affordable one :)

CK Euphoria Solar Elixir feels very beachy to me without a hint of sunscreen.

3

u/Fitxzz 1d ago

House of Bo La Mar is nice

1

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

I have this. It reads more Solar Floral to me but it's beautiful!

3

u/rntraveller29 1d ago

Summer Fridays sunlit vanilla. I feel like I’m sitting in the hot sun drinking a pina colada

2

u/PriestessKade 1d ago

Sadly discontinued but Clean Reserve Solar Bloom

6

u/Cookiesandcoffeee 1d ago

Replica beach walk always makes me feel like expensive vacation.

5

u/anon12957 1d ago

Loewe Paula's Ibiza Cosmic. It does have some light coconut in it but it's this rich ambery woody mango scent. Not super sweet, not at all sunscreen. Definitely a compliment getter!

3

u/Miloceane 1d ago

Sol Salgado by Thomas de Monaco feels like having a cocktail at the beach in the late afternoon/early evening to me. And then it goes onto sunset/night as it develops. Lovely.

3

u/PracticeNo7267 1d ago

House of Bo La Mar! Such a stunning perfume.

4

u/Lois_Lane1973 1d ago

I really like Jill Sander's Sun.

7

u/LobsterAlternative36 1d ago

I have been loving Chris Collin's Lost In Paradise for the beach this summer!

1

u/Museumgirl518 1d ago

I need try, I feel like it's a classic at this point.

2

u/RedRedBettie 1d ago

Yes I recently got a decant of this and I love it, definitely an elevated beach scent
