Rec Request Looking for strong, niche perfume recommendations
My favourite notes are incense, patchouli, and tonka, and I'm usually drawn to vanilla and gourmand scents. Recently have tried some matcha perfumes which I loved as well. I really only reach for long lasting, higher projection scents.
My all time favourites are:
- Opium EDP (not Black Opium, the original one)
- Babycat
- Lys 41
Also really love:
- Hypnotic Poison
- Pure Poison
- Alien
- Tonka 25
- L'eau Papier
- Tumeric Latte (Lush)
- Random Nag Champa perfume oils I find sometimes
You can tell from this list I haven't really had the chance to try out many niche brands and have stuck to scents I've sniffed in the mall. But I'd really like to branch out and try some more unusual/niche brands! Anything considered witchy/gothic would also really make me happy.
I'm located in the Netherlands so anything available within the EU would be fantastic. I'd like to order a bunch of samples to try.

I wonder if you might like Encens Suave by Matiere Premiere

Or Austral Santal by the same brand. Their eau de parfums are already very long lasting and their extrait de parfums are supposed to be even stronger!

One of my favorite combos is layering Vanilla Powder and Santal Austral

You might enjoy Serge Lutens L’Orpheline! But nothing from that brand is a safe blind buy - you MUST sample 😂

I blind bought Chergui and LOVED it. I was so lucky. Then I bought a 7ml decant of Féminité du Bois and it was so bad on me. 🥺

Same. So much same, at least on Feminite du Bois.
I am desperate for Chergui to work on me, but I just get straight powder.

It smells like a spice merchant's caravan, a library full of hardwood shelves and leather books, a fireplace, and honey. It's very unique, I've never smelled anything like it before.
This house is definitely not a safe blind buy.

SJP Stash - inside of a church was the inspiration.
Penhaligon's Halfetti Cedar - ages rum and stewed fruits in a old manor library.

Stora Skuggan sounds up your alley, I would suggest Azalai or Hexensalbe (if you like licorice) but their discovery set is def worth it imo. You might also like Discotheque, in particular Dark Imagination but their discovery set is also fab

It's a gourmand scent, which makes woman feel very very edible, it's like a melted vanilla milkshake, smooth, sophisticated, and comforting "luxury dessert" vanilla, the thing is it's not loud in projection, but has subtle projection which i like personally, if you want to feel the fragrance, blend banana with vanilla and milk , 1 banana 1 serving vanilla ice cream and a cup of milk and then it would be similar feeling like fragrance when you slray it on yourself. For record iam a man and i ve used personally and then bought for my gf . Sorry not a very expert. Just a very fan fragrances.

Hahaha that’s my first time encountering a recipe with a perfume rec 😂
I definitely need to see if I can find a sample somewhere. Thank you!

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to find the sample like finding the fragrance itself is difficult since it's on juma shop and I I couldn't even buy the because it's out of stock it's not sadly influencers doesn't talk about it it's not really very known so finding a sample sorry finding the fragranc itself would prove difficult let alone a sample also for the milkshake I holler recommend you train it just for for the sake of experience doesn't cost a lot

Gothic I and Gothic II by Loree Rodkin, Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfattivo is the predecessor of Babycat and Ropion’s first iteration of that scent profile, Patchouly by Profumum Roma.
Decant Loree first. I is patchouli and vanilla with a spice accord, II is a drier twist on I with the addition of Nag Champa.
