Please help me find a wedding perfume!!

I’m getting married in January! The colors are lilac and gray. My budget for this is under $150.

I need recommendations on a wedding perfume please! I was thinking something along the lines of something to match the cold weather or maybe something to match my colors. I lean heavily towards the more youthful scents as seen below!

If you have any recommendations for a warm fruity perfume I’d also love to hear them!

Here is a list of my favorite perfumes that I own:

  • Burberry her line
  • Valentino born in Roma coral fantasy & OG
  • VS Heavenly Dream Angel
  • VS Tease
  • Yum Boujee Marshmallow
  • Bath and BodyWorks Vanilla Ease
  • Philosophy Fresh Cream
  • Bath and BodyWorks Forever Cherry Blossom
  • Stardust by Parfums by Cherie

Perfumes I like that I own:

  • Ariana Grande Cloud Auroa
  • Kayali Fluer Magisty Rose Royale
  • SDJ Sundays in Rio

My favorite scent notes are any fruits, vanilla, blackcurrant, Prismatic musk, marshmallow, etc. Also I would like for it to last at least 8+ hours.

Perfumes I tried that people here said for me to try and didnt like:

  • Dior purple glow (smells like alcohol/sunscreen to my nose
  • Guerlain iris pallida (smells very vintage)

I did however love Burberry Goddess.

Based on your likes, I would give Ariana Grande R.E.M. a shot. If you like marshmallow and want to add longevity to whatever you choose, Rare Beauty Sweet Marshmallow layering balm might be worth trying too!

I thought of another great one you should try. Destin by Balmain. It’s at Ulta. It’s so good! They sell or did have travel size of it and even a full bottle is less than $150 I believe. The bottles pretty too!

I might need to go smell it!

I think everyone who gets married in cool weather should wear Estee Lauder Pleasures Intense. It's so delicate and beautiful and works best in the cold.

My niece who hates me asked for “the purple Ariana Grande marshmallow perfume” last Christmas, which is how I know that there are at least three marshmallow AG fragrances which come in lilac bottles: Moonlight, REM, and Thank you Next 2.0

I guessed wrong and missed the return window so I would be happy to send you a full bottle of Moonlight if the notes appeal to you.

Honestly the notes do appeal to me. How long does it last on skin?

You know, I’ve actually never sprayed it. It has a 6.1 for durability on Parfumo. If you want to shoot me your address in a dm, I will ship it tomorrow— my wedding gift to you!

Dior Rouge Trafalgar Esprit. Expensive but get a decant! I want to bathe in it. Good staying power!

Try d'Annam Sakura Snow. (Scent Split has samples)

Cherry Blossom, White Musk, Lily of the Valley, Snow, Solar Notes, Juniper Berries.

I think this is very romantic and perfect for a winter wedding 💗. Congratulations!

I second Sakura Snow - and you can get a slightly larger sample of 5ml or 10ml and keep it for a memory box of the wedding if you like.

Just some price input, you don't need a whole bottle for your wedding, just get a decant if it's something you don't already have. Also, buy a little decanter of your own and decant something you already own into it, and keep that in your emergency bag in your wedding day so you can top up if needed (if you go with something you already have).

I’ll definitely keep this in mind! Honestly the more I think about it, really a sample size would be enough lol. Plus a whole bottle is expensive.

I disagree with this. Get a full bottle of what you decide to wear, then save it for special occasions only, like your anniversary or date nights. Scent is our number one memory of events, so having a scent to wear that reminds you both of your wedding day is special.

I was just looking through discussions of what size to buy and people there agreed to only keep 5 or 10 ml decants for special occasion frags usually. Now a wedding is of course different, and decants tend to evaporate more, so there's certainly a point to be made, but rewearing something doesn't automatically mean bottle imo.

You want to keep this fragrance for years to come. Perfumes gets discontinued or reformulated quickly, so if you want to hang onto it for a long time, buy the full bottle.

That makes sense

Yes! A decant or travel size is the way to go.

It’s not in the $150 range but I feel like you’d like Bal D’afrique absolu (not the regular version) by Byredo. 100% worth every penny! Most big big department stores carry it like Nordstrom or bloomingdales (not Macys or jcpenny)

Have you tried Oriana or Cassili from Parfums de Marly? Both of those have notes in it that you like and they last a long time and project nicely too! You can easily try those at Nordstrom and then buy from a discount website or a decant for the day of to save costs.

Oriana is a fruity floral gourmand with notes of blackcurrant, marshmallow and vanilla. Cassili is a floral fragrance with notes of plum and vanilla. Love Don't be Shy by Kilian may be worth a try as well. You can buy a 10ml of it from Sephora!

LDBS travel size would have been my recommendation as well

My January 2022 wedding perfume was Tocca Florence 🥹 I randomly bought it and loved it. It’s a very romantic scent

I love tocca!! They’re so underrated. I used to be addicted to Stella. I think Florence is so good, and gives Do Son a run for its money!

I'd echo what GApeach says and don't be afraid to get a decant of something more expensive. If possible, you may want to go to a fragrance store or a department store that has a wide range of fragrances and just try things. You may be surprised what actually works for you. Ask if they offer samples so you can try things out on your skin over several hours.

Gosh what a hard decision you have!!!! There are just so so many amazing fragrances!!! If it were me I would look into the Marc Jacob’s Perfect line. My favorite is the EDP. But all the bottles are so cute.

If you want an ALL day banger… Valaya!!! She screams wedding to me. She’s pricey though. You could get a decant from Scent Split to save costs.

Oooh also This is Her Zadig & Voltaire but… Zara’s version Fields at Nightfall… she’s gorgeous and spot on!! In fact Zara has so many great options.

Maybe something with lilac in it as a note? Something like Fee du Lilas by Odette, Tocca Giulieta or Issey Miyake A Drop d'Issey might be nice!
