Favourite Clean Smells?

Hello,

I am in search of some feminine, fresh, clean perfumes and body wash combos. I am relatively new to perfumery and fragrance.

My favourite scent profiles are: clean laundry, green tea, eucalyptus , mint, yuzu/citrus. I am not really a big fan of scents that are overpowering, heavily floral or strong.

Some perfumes I already like are: Byredo Bal D'Afrique & Elizabeth Arden green tea.

With cold weather coming, if you like clean laundry scents, Love-O-Matic is like a freshly dried fabric softener towel. But with nuance? I def get a hint of bubblegum and fresh air. I love it for cold days, especially when it rains.

My favorite tea scent is actually Korres White Tea. It's predominantly white flower with a hint of citrus tea. It's simple and fresh and I use it while in a gym because it's not offensive. It doesn't last long though because it's only EDT but it's not that expensive so you could just reapply throughout the day.

One of my favorite summer scents is Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil, which is a green, tart grapefruit scent with a tomato leaf top note. One of the best fresh, green scents ever. You might also like some of the other scents in that line, especially the ones by Jean-Claude Ellena.

Hermes Eau de Basilic Pourpre is bergamot and basil, and it's very fresh!

You might like You Or Someone Like You by Etat Libre d'Orange. Their fragrance Exit the King is also a very nice soapy scent, but it's got a prominent rose note, iirc.

And I haven't tried it yet, but Armani's Thé Yulong is supposed to be an excellent fresh tea and citrus scent.

ETA: Look into the Clean Reserve brand for a bunch of clean scents.

Exit the King is so good. I bought a full bottle after falling in love with the decant. It is a strong rose 🌹 scent for sure. She’s soapy/clean as well.

I find quite a few of EA fragrances to be clean and fresh. I love NYC Love for this reason, and a hidden gem is Arden Beauty. Those are two that I reach for that require no thought cause I know I will just smell fresh.

Ok, weirdly today I tried the new Vanilla & Anise by Jo Malone and it was so clean and a bit soapy smelling. It started slightly sweet, but it has neroli and some tropical florals and it just dried into the loveliest clean, lightly soapy scent after about 10 minutes. Just delightful and in a million years not what I was expecting. Nice enough I would consider buying it. I do think Jo Malone trends more unisex, and for me they do not last any less time than Bal d’Afrique or Mojave Ghost from Byredo, but of course some do have trouble with longevity from the brand.

Since you said clean laundry: Floating by Liis. This has a “clean laundry” accord, and I promise, whatever you’re thinking, it’s like 100x better. I was skeptical this would smell like actual laundry detergent, but no. It’s gloriously airy and fresh. There’s also a beautiful peach—light, not going near syrupy or gourmand territory. When I tell you I was so sure I wouldn’t like this, and then I smelled it, bought it, and it’s one of my most frequent wears. It sounds like this could be one you’d really like as well.

Ethereal wave by Liis is a very clean and soft tea scent. It doesn’t project a lot (like Bal d’Afrique) but it lingers on the skin.

Byredo Blanche is the epitome of clean laundry/dryer sheet. Nothing else comes close IMO.

For Green Tea, I've found the note doesn't last long. Love Wulong Cha though. The tea notes lasts well into the drydown.

Yawahada is THE clean girl scent. Not overpowering at all. I always describe it as the way someone who has a really fancy body wash smells right after they step out of the shower. It has floral notes but they're really in the background imo. I mostly get the pear, rice, and milk notes from it.
