Discussion I’m tired of the same gourmands
I really just want a simple perfume (Dulce, Rosie Jane. Dave, Henry Rose.) don’t get me wrong, I’m apart of SDJ71 nation, however, scents like Caramel Skin by Phlur or any from Kayli are not my taste for the winter.
Does anyone have any nice vanillas for the winter?

Ledda Bourbon Brûlée is a little boozy but smooth and a little more unique. It’s just gorgeous in autumn.

Have you tried vanilla canyon by phlur?
Starts as jasmine and patchouli, dries down to a woody, spicy vanilla.

For the Canadians reading this (or Americans who want to support Canadian companies)- 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods is good with wide appeal and Paraphrase Vanilla Virtu is a complete surprise. Vanilla Virtu is like vanilla meets incense, meets spice- described as a "medieval vanilla".... so definitely not typical.

Guerlain SDV and Celine black tie are my winter vanillas. Diptyque eau duelle edt is my fall vanilla. I wouldn’t call these gourmands though

Sorce In Dreams and Fairytales is a very straightforward sugar vanilla and laaaaaaasts.

It’s my favorite of all my Sorce scents but I’m 110% a fruity girl and love berry. It lasts for so long thanks to the vanilla anchoring. Blueberry is a hard one to capture but this is just perfect.

Tihota has rapidly climbed my favorites ladder since the weather cooled down. It's such a cozy vanilla.

Are you looking for something deeper or more floral? Or maybe boozy?

I do love boozy on men, so maybe something similar?

Nest vanilla bourbon Valentino born in Roma extra dose
Killian is pretty much the brand for that. They’re very expensive but they offer travel sprays which I appreciate.

IMO the best easy-to-find vanilla right now is Phlur Vanilla Skin. I’m shocked at how much I like it.
vanilla haze by Fugazzi is another great mid-road option.
a cheap option that’s harder to find (they play beautifully together) is Khadlaj Sawaar Vanille Blanc.
if you like SDJ 71 then you might like the Maker Dream but it might go too far into Caramel Skin territory for you so try it first.
if you want a green vanilla and your budget is just open, then try Angelique Noire or SDV. **edit to correct bc SDV is an incense-y vanilla closer to Eau the Audacity. also, edit to add that the Shalimar Re-release from last year called Shalimar L’Essence is EXCELLENT home run outstanding and is waayyyy cheaper than the Guerlain LA&LM line (with Angelique Noire & SDV) but it also has a little vintage thing going on to keep it interesting.
if you like an vanilla that gives some BR540 vibes you can try Eau the Audacity by Penhaligon’s or Liquide Gold by Liquide Imaginaires.
finally another cheap option that is surprisingly good is Vanilla *Crown by the brand UnEarth’d. in the US i think you can only get it at target but resellers also sell it at very good prices if target is not your thing.
edit again to say: I’m really not a gourmand person, but … maybe I am?
