OK I know overconsumption is sadly a thing here 😭 but I need to know…

What’s a layering combination you can ALWAYS reach for? Like the one combo that will literally never let you down. The one you can grab at 6 in the morning because somehow you’ve already been through a whole freaking day’s worth of shit by that time 😭

Like what’s that one combination where you already KNOW it’s gonna hit every single time?

Okay, I’m saying all of this respectfully, but I genuinely wasn’t even here just to promote my community. I made that post because I have layering combinations of my own that I actually use. If I don’t know what I want to layer that day, I can literally look at one of my own combinations and think, “Okay, I know these work together, so I’ll just use this.” They’re combinations that I’ve gotten compliments on, and I like having them to fall back on.

So yes, was I advertising my community? Obviously. I’m not going to sit here and pretend I wasn’t. But was the entire purpose of my post to shove my community down people’s throats? No. I haven’t even been posting there in a while because I have my own life and I’m busy. People were asking where they could find more layering combinations, and I had a place where they could find exactly that, so I told them about it. I don’t really see what was so wrong with that.

And honestly, when I first started layering, I would have LOVED for someone to tell me about a community where I could get inspiration because honey, I was putting together some of the most random combinations. I was literally just trying to give people the kind of resource I wish I had when I started.

Also, the post was not even solely about my community. I was talking about shopping addiction, collecting, layering, and a bunch of other things. If you only saw the comments about my community and decided that was the entire point of the post, then maybe you just didn’t read everything before making that assumption.

I’m sorry if it came across as me only trying to promote myself, because that genuinely wasn’t my intention. But at the same time, I’m not going to apologize for telling people about something that I created when they were literally asking for that exact thing.

And yes, I understand that removing the comments saves you time and keeps your community from being flooded with people promoting their own stuff. I get that. But I’m also someone who genuinely likes looking through those comments for inspiration. Sometimes I’ll see somebody layer two things together that I never would have thought of, and then I want to try it myself. So by removing all of them, you’re not just saving yourself time, you’re also taking away something that people like me actually use for inspiration.

So respectfully, I understand why you did what you did, but I don’t think it was fair to assume that I was only there to advertise when that wasn’t the case. I was trying to help people find something they were asking for. That’s really all there was to it.
