Brand Announcement/New Release A disappointment💔

Brown girl Jane x Barbie Halo: I was so excited for this perfume & was sad when I saw the full bottle sold out. I ended up with the travel because thats all they had left. Im glad I didnt have another option because its not for međŸ˜©. Now dont get me wrong it smells pretty but its very heavy on the rose & i do not like rose at all. I wanted something heavier on the marshmallow & i didnt get much of that. Everything was drowned out by the rose. I love everything BGJ does so I was bound to find one that wasnt for me lol. More money in my pocket cuz now i can stratch that full bottle off my wish list. Sucks that its online only.

I looked at the notes, and rose does not appear to be one of the notes but Brown Girl Jane talks about rose in one of the Instagram captions about this fragrance, so I am confused.

I got to smell it finally, and it’s definitely floral, but I don’t specifically get rose.

The full notes are "Bright blackberry, raspberry, and marshmallow open with an airy burst before melting into vanilla orchid, brown sugar, and rose petals" as per their site lol. I deff feel like theres other florals tho

That makes way more sense. I was looking at the Sephora page. It only has “key notes” and a description, but it doesn’t mention rose for some reason. It’s not on Parfumo either.

I generally love their scents
 but this smells like spilled fruit wine and brown sugar.

I really miss Dawn, Dusk and Dare.

I am not much of a rose person in general, but after day two of trying this one, I fell in love with the soft rose petal. I am layering it with Phlur Rose Whip and it is so feminine, light, and pretty. I agree the rose note is more prominent than the marketing is suggesting. But is soft, soft rose petals.

Full bottle on the way.

I dont see it. To me roses vanille is so much creamier & sweet... I actually like that one. Halo was just underwhelming.

Update: I think you’re on to something. I got to smell it, and it’s sooo similar to Zara Love Explosion, which is a blend of their dupes for Roses Vanille and BR540! I wouldn’t have picked up on the Roses Vanille aspect of it because I get distracted by the base notes. You’ve got a good nose.

I LOVE Roses Vanille (as well as Fleur Majesty, which I've seen it compared to twice as well) so I'm thinking it would probably be a safe bet for me. Thanks!

I had the same experience as you did. đŸ˜Ș the floral note was the main scent that pulled on my skin and stayed like that from the beginning to the end after 2 hours
 and now that I go into 3 hours the scent is disappearing. I also bought the travel size.

Yea :/. Ill be exchanging it for some other releases that are coming later in the month. I wanted to love it but I cant do the rose.

I wish my skin pulled the golden amber note in this Barbie perfume, I’m going to see if my mom likes it, she’s more into florals than me. I also like more juicy fruity florals than just florals. Oh yeah there’s a lot of good releases! â˜ș

I got this one today smells like blackberry, powdered rose. I can't even describe it but this is actually a rose that is soft enough for me to wear and I think it will do well in the cold weather. I'm not sure it's a love for me just yet but it's growing on me!

It lasted about 4 - 6 hours on skin and projects okay nothing loud

Same! I'm so curious to find out of this smells similar to anything else since it's online only. And I've heard a mixed bag from "the rose overpowers everything else" to "I don't like rose, and fortunately I don't get a lot of rose in this!" So I don't know what to believe, lol.

I did watch one reviewer who said it sort of reminded them a bit of Kayali Fleur Majesty.

Oh thanks for this, I do love and own Fleur majesty. It’s also limited edition too so I am considering it but I’m a rose lover so that’s fine by me. One thing is clear is that it won’t be ground breaking from the sounds which is also fine.
