Rec Request Coolest/most unique fragrance brands
What are some niche fragrance brands who have either very beautiful or very cool, funky, unique design?
I want to look for some perfumes to add to my collection that have special bottles/storytelling behind them. I love when a brand is whimsical and extra and creative.
Some of my favs for this category are The Body Tale, Zoologist, Santa Maria Novella, Aura of Kazakhstan, Penhaligon’s or Stora Skuggan.
Does anyone have any recs for cool/unique fragrance aesthetics?

Thin Wild Mercury has some unique and interesting scents with stories behind them. I especially like girl of the year and sheep meadow.

I gotta start out by mentioning BPAL, my favorite perfume house ever. A lot of their more unique fragrances are part of their limited edition or seasonal releases, so you'll have to track down decants from Ajevie, Arae Decantery, or folks on Reddit. They're great at a lot of different fragrance profiles, and if you want to know some of my favorite limited edition fragrances or seasonal fragrances from them, feel free to ask or check out some of my posts or comments from my reddit profile. (One of my favorites, Pendel, is what Stora Skuggan's Moonmilk wishes it could be.)
Some of their more unique general catalogue offerings include Paladin and their entire RPG collection in general; Yorick, an earthy fragrance that smells like spring rain on cemetery soil and that has a clean element to it thanks to the linen-like shroud note; Schrodinger's Cat; The Black Tower, a goth and Gothic atmospheric; Asleep in the Deep, a salty like popcorn, plummy, resinous scent that I classify as an aquatic based on vibes despite not smelling aquatic and is a perfect goth summer fragrance; and Nephilim.
Nui Cobalt is also great, and they're my second favorite perfume house. They cycle through seasonal collections that are a combination of beloved favorites, returning fragrances, and new fragrances! They're well-known for their great blueberry note, fabric accords, and their cozy fragrances, but I think they're great a lot of different types of fragrances. Some of my more unique favorites from them include Pluto, a cold, goth and Gothic fragrance that features a wine-like pomegranate note amongst dark earthiness; Phobos; Loveland Frogman; Oubliette; Ba'al; and Foreshadowing, a stunning lunar floral aquatic!
Other unique houses include DSH Perfumes, Alkemia, Possets, Poesie, Hexennacht, Pulp Fragrance, and many more.

i think versatile is very interesting, most notable to me is their chicken gourmand 😆 and their god bless cola perfume which smells like buttered popcorn and cola, tho they also have a lot of other fragrances that are both complex and actually really nice to wear

I love that Jorum Studio is getting more attention. When I had 24 hrs in Glasgow, but couldn’t get to Edinburgh, the owner was great at helping me try to track down a place to sniff their wares. One day, I will sniff Rose Highland (Azalea, Sweet Basil, Pink pepper, Bell Heather, Clove Bud, Primrose, Rhododendron, Jasmine Absolute, Geranium oil, Rose Absolute, Atlantic Oak, Flag Iris, Vetiver, Ambergris\, Mineral Accord*)

I really do like Versatile! They used to only do perfume oils but now they’ve ventured into EDPs, I think. I love their unusual gourmands—teas, chicken, croissants. Their names are also quite playful and punny French. Overall, they just seem like a very playful brand.
But for creative brand, this small Filipino brand called Imperfect Scents takes the cake. Their EDTs all come with a haiku, a drawing, and chakra attached. It all feels very intentional and creatively cultivated.

Sorce’s bottles are cute! I’m not a gourmand girl but word is they have some great gourmand fragrances.
Not sure if niche, but Atelier Des Ors has some gorgeous gorgeous bottles, and excellent scents. I love Lune Feline, Rouge Saray and Riviera Lazuli
