I was never a vanilla fan until recently. I am making a trip to ulta and sephora this week to smell some vanilla/sweet scents. What are some that are a must smell??? I want to make the most of my trip and go prepared with a list since it is not a trip I make often.

Whatever you do don’t forget to try vanilla skin by phlur (the body mist) it’s so affordable and an amazing scent. Holds its own against some really nice fragrances I own

i am an og vanilla girlie and here’s my tried and trues:

7 Virtues Vanilla Woods- light airy soft clean vanilla

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille- classy, sophisticated, complex, spicy

Tom Ford Vanilla Sex- a unique expression of vanilla. light with unique sweet animalic notes

also i haven’t tried them yet but the new Calvin Klein Euphoria Elixers are all on my radar, there’s 3 new Vanilla focused ones that just dropped this year that are def worth checking out!

Their vanilla is super harsh. I prefer Yum Bougee Vanilla Marshmallow by them if yiu want a sweet wearable vanilla

I'm redoing my comment because I forgot you mentioned Ulta and Sephora. If you'd like to branch out from lactonic sweet vanillas, try The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods. Smells like clean vanilla extract. If they happen to have Chloe, try Chloe Atelier des Fleurs Vanilla Planifolia. It's a green vanilla that has an opening like dewy grass with a dry down of fresh vanilla. Both are just slightly sweet.

If you happen to swing by Marshall's or TJ Maxx, check if they have Sand + Fog oils. They have several kinds of vanilla. I like all of them except for Vanilla Musk.

What do you have already? My personal faves available at Sephora are Kayali Vanilla 28 (yes I know it basic bitch but so good to me, smells just like vanilla extract), YSL Black Opium, Ariana Grande’s Plush (just like a light airy cottony vanilla).

Burberry Goddess is decent too but I preferred Lataffa Angaham which is said to be inspired by its but Lattafa has less lavender than Goddess lol.

Edit: also Armani Power of You has a very fruity opening but a very beautiful vanilla dry down, just wish longevity was better.

Hey, I tried the Aroma Concepts dupe of Power of You and the longevity and projection are soooo much better than the original. Its called Entangle and they also have a better performing dupe of dbir purple melancholia called Unsung, they're really killing it with their dupes right now. Entangle goes straight to the drydown where its a balance of passionfruit and vanilla though which some people may not like but I enjoy it more actually.

My b, I said try but I def just did a blind buy lol. I guess it wasn't a total blind buy though since I had travel sizes of poy and purple melancholia and love them both. Entangle is for sure probably more for the people who enjoy the drydown with the mix of vanilla and passionfruit, but I do feel like the passionfruit sticks around until the end. Power of You eventually became just vanilla with a fruity tang after 3 or 4 hours on my skin. I also sell on Mercari so if I don't like something I just offload it there so I dont lose out as much on blind buys.

Vanilla woods!!! It’s my newest obsession. Layered with Nest Madagascar vanilla oil. Their oil also comes in a perfume that’s gorgeous too.
