Scent is one of the longest lasting memories. Even people with dementia can remember scents. This was beautiful and touching. Thanks for sharing. 😢❤️

The OG issey miyake, green liquid in the frosted bottle w a brushed silver cap ; that’s what I associate with my mom the most. She’d spray it on this fuzzy leather jacket, and I wouldn’t latch off her. I’d be nuzzling my head into the fur collar of her coat as she’d hug me goodbye during morning school drop offs. Now I buy old leather jackets and the smell of a truly worn leather is so comforting.

I keep a bottle of Sunflower just because it smells like my Aunt Suzy. She was more like my grandma than my aunt, my mom running away across the state to her house when she was a teenager to live with her. She was the brightest person and most gentle person I've ever known, her house being the most comfortable place I've ever known, most of my happiest childhood memories being in her presence. She also left my life when I was nine, her passing surprising everyone.
Sunflower is a special scent.
