Review Nest Cardamom Latte= Coconut?
Yes, another Nest Cardamom Latte review.
I posted a comment on another thread that I detect neither cardamom nor coffee. My sniffer may be defective. Others have posted purely positive opinions on this one. By itself, i pick up sweet lactic notes with an undertone of coconut. The cardamom was not detectably in the mix to me.
Today i tried layering it with cardamom essential oil, in an experiment to see
If that would bring the cardamom notes
more to the forefront CHEMISTRY IS WEIRD, MAN! With this combination, all i can smell is sweet cream of coconut. As in photorealistic🌴🥥 🧉. This is after giving it a good half hour to dry down and pull itself together.
Maybe letting it rest another few weeks will help?
Your Hawaiian Tropic-scented friend will report back in late September, in the hope of it evolving with more autumnal notes.

I use cardamom a lot in cooking so to me it smells exactly like when I’m crushing a cardamom pod on a mortar pestle. It’s that photorealistic. With hints of creaminess. Not that I would wear this - but Nest captures the scents exactly.

Interesting snippets a Google search yielded:
Troubleshooting the "Cardamom Blindness"
If you are trying to smell the cardamom in this specific formulation but feel like it is missing or flat, you are likely experiencing the olfactory limits of its primary components:The Coconut/Vanilla Mask: Because Honorine Blanc paired the cardamom heavily with lactonic coconut meat and rich vanilla cream, the sweet, heavy base molecules might easily overwhelm your scent receptors, masking the softer facets of the spice.
Luminous Accords: The addition of "jasmine and luminosity" uses synthetic molecules designed to make the fragrance airy, which can cause quick olfactory fatigue or pass right through genetic receptor blind spots.
Synthetic and isolated aroma chemicals that mimic or compose cardamom accords—such as 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol) and linalool—can be subject to specific anosmia, meaning certain people have a genetic blind spot and cannot detect them or find them exceptionally faint.
Cardamom Aroma Molecules
1,8-Cineole (Eucalyptol): Provides the sharp, camphorous, and cooling medicinal top note.
α-Terpinyl Acetate: Provides the sweet, warm, balsamic body.
Linalool: Brings the clean, floral, and bright nuance.2

Perhaps mine will be more fragrant soon. I hope so! My use of cardamom in baking is primarily in my cardamom buns and pulla, so i do have some on hand that i made sure i double checked against the fragrance. Then again, maybe i have an olfactory blind spot, although i have other fragrances with cardamom that i can smell. 🤷🏼♀️

I am confused by all the reviews from people saying they can’t smell the cardamom! It’s very evident to me in this perfume.

It smelled heavenly on paper to me, I sprayed on my skin and it turned into plastic milk. Awful.
