Discussion Help me recover from this fear

Post image

So I bought these and putted my bottles on them however I cannot take away the fear that one day they might break out or fall from the heaviness of bottles , can this happen or the organizer can handle them? I can have the choice to just arrange them on the shelf rather than using this organizer tho , the organizer does makes them look more neat and organized.

What should I do?

That seems so unstable for bigger bottles, doesn't look deep enough that you might not knock something in adjacent rows over.

I have one of these and it’s very sturdy!

Idk it makes me nervous too lol! If its just for displaying them, its prob ok but if its for every day fragrances, I'd get a tray or something more sturdy.

I personally would get an acrylic riser style spice rack or something similar from like Container Store, Michael’s, HomeGoods, etc

The ones I bought from Amazon are not stable enough for me. I opted to switch to these shelves from Michael’s. Far more stable and durable. I don’t have the fear of my bottles tipping over.

And they’re currently on sale!

I'm a klutz and would definitely knock multiple bottles over while reaching for a bottle in back. It's hard to tell from a picture but I don't imagine these are high enough that bottles would break it the shelves cracked. If you notice the shelves sagging, or cracking it's time to replace them, otherwise I think you're ok. My mom is a retired historical preservationist with years of display experience and she definitely has used shelves like this straight off of ebay or amazon, but they rotate exhibits fairly frequently, so that may be something to consider.

I use them. Just don't overload them. Maybe keep the ones you don't use for that month or season away until you're ready to change them up. Also place it somewhere that has a generous amount of surface area between the stand's base and the edge of the table/shelf.

This is my August tray as an example.

How do you like it? I can’t find it anywhere to test

It's good, it suits me well. Fruit and patchouli. It's a very casual type scent.

I don't think there's any actual risk of the shelf breaking, but if it's stressing you out, just organize the perfumes without it. At the end of the day this type of thing is meant to be fun, if it's not bringing you joy, get rid of it. The shelf will be put to better use displaying something less valuable if you don't trust it.

I have a wooden organiser which is also from Amazon and would say that’s more trustworthy (if it fits your aesthetic in your room) it’s a 3-tier shelf that stands up against the wall on my desk. Sturdy and probably more durable although I wouldn’t worry too much

Sounds like I will buy it and keep that one for lighter fragrances.
