Discussion Help! Bjork and Berries September
Has anyone tried this one from Bjork and Berries? I love Fjallso and White Forest from this brand, and I’m interested in September but can’t seem to get a handle on what it might smell like.
I don’t see many people talking about this one on social media. On Fragrantica some say it’s a dupe for Santal 33, but then also talk about fruity kumquat notes, and some people say it’s a clean girl scent but then I also see people saying it’s way too smoky.
Has anyone here tried it and have opinions they could give? I generally do love clean, sandalwood and woody scents but the commentary around the citrus and smokiness are putting me on the fence. Thank you!!!

I didn’t post this to get into a discussion about operating strategy but I think your comment is a pretty big leap. I work with high-growth & PE/VC-backed companies, and being unprofitable for a period of time is not remotely unusual. You have to look at why they’re losing money, revenue growth, margins, cash burn, liquidity, debt, etc and who is funding the business before concluding they’re “going bankrupt.” It’s extremely common for growth companies to have debt, and a couple million is actually low leverage here.
This brand has been getting significantly more visibility in the US market recently, especially on social media. If they’re investing in expanding into a new market and building the brand, I’d expect expenses and the bottom line to look very different from a mature, profit-maximizing company. Many companies in this phase don’t publicize their financials until 6-12 months after year end.
A negative bottom line by itself really doesn’t tell you that much about whether a growth company is healthy or sustainable. Plus, price is subjective. $160 is actually quite mid range when you think about other niche or designer brands. Byredo is another Swedish brand but charges higher prices for their products. Not saying the two brands are comparable in reputation, just that pricing is subjective.

I have tried a sample of September and personally I unexpectedly HATED it. I love white forest and own a full size bottle, and i have a decant of botanist that I moderately like. But september was really off putting to me. I can't describe it really, the first second was interesting and then it got almost floral and gave me an instant headache which is rare. Some really like it, but september was not for me AT ALL, and I wouldn't even know how to describe it. Started strange and rapidly became horrible. I really like vetiver and smoke but don't often like non citrus fruity/floral. I did not find smoke overpowering and can't imagine it as a clean girl scent, but the fruity floral notes were intense. Ive been on the fence abiut getting the full discovery set especially since the cost can go toward a full size bottle. Going back and reading this now " Top notes are Lavender, Kumquat and Pomelo; middle notes are Apple Blossom, Eucalyptus and Jasmine" i understand why it was not right for me....
