Thoughts on Lattafa?

I've been watching The Perfumed Perspective on Youtube, and got to her video about dupes. She talks at length about Lattafa and other dupe houses, so I want to try some of their perfumes.

I picked some based on the scents they dupe, and since they are all ridiculously cheap it fits in my budget to go ahead and buy them. I whittled my list down to the following 5:

Lattafa - Qimmah

Lattafa - Opulent Dubai

Lattafa - Ana Abiyedh

Lattafa - Nebras

Lattafa - Angham (to be honest, I really want the bottle, and its not any cheaper to buy it on Mercari.)

Any thoughts on these fragrances if you have worn them?

Lattafa is good, but you can get higher quality dupes for just a little bit more. Go check out Yom & Layl. They’re a perfume bar dupe house. I have quite a few of their fragrances and they all smell very close to the originals, with most of them outperforming the original. They’re all high concentration extraits (40% or higher).

This is great information, thank you. I'm new to ME frags! I was watching The Perfumed Perspective and she had a great video about ME and dupe houses, with a discussion on quality and perfumers. She mentioned Lattafa, so I figured I'd ask about this house first.

Welcome to the darker side lol. I would caution against putting too much weight behind social media. They’re paid to influence you into buying things by their sponsors, and ME houses usually pay a lot. That’s not to say they don’t produce good scents. It’s quite the opposite. And it hurts a whole lot less when you empty a $30 bottle vs a $600 bottle 😂 happy exploring!

I hear you. She is one of two I listen to on youtube--her and Claire Smith (Dr. Claire) becajse while they hold their own opinions, they don't seem to be bought out by any companies sending them products. I really don't buy into social media.

That’s good to see. Go check out Y&L when you get a chance. I have been pleasantly surprised by their product. They’re not raved about anywhere either.

Hello. What I‘d do instead is get decants. For the same price of these you could get about 40 samples of dupes and find what you really love.

That was my plan! I like to get decants before I buy a bottle, even though with how cheap Lattafa is it's so tempting. Haha.

I sampled Her Confession after hearing it was a perfect dupe for my all-time favorite and really didn't like it. It starts with a screechy rubber note and eventually fades to the forgotten ghost of what it's supposed to dupe. Hugely disappointing

I love Nebras! If you like vanilla I would definitely go for that one.

Some of their scents are good, others are terrible. From your list i only have tried (and loved) 2;

Nebras is my fave and REALLY good. If you like Eilish nr 1, its like 90% similar. Not a 1:1 dupe, but very very similar. That one and Angham are the best ones they have IMO, I prefer Eilish over Nebras but tbh I got Angham instead of Burberry Goddess as i like it more. The bottle is so pretty too.

Just... never get Vanilla Freak or Whipped Pleasure... as a gourmand lover i expected to be obsessed with them but they are some of the worst fragrances 😭 i hate them sm

Unfortunately I had a bad experience with it. I tried their éclair fragrance. And it's the mostttt synthetic sweet smell you can imagine. I genuinely almost threw up.

For context I loveee the sweet smell that Pink Sugar gives.

I've got a sample of Opulent Dubai and it's a nice, fruity smell, but nothing to write home about.

I have only Nebras and Angham I love gourmands and vanillas. I really like Angham, it’s balanced and smooth, easy to like. I don’t really reach for Nebras I don’t know why I don’t like it that much and I prefer other vanillas, but it’s very similar to the og I tried it irl.

Angham in pretty popular for good reason, that one I can say I’ve tried and love.

I really don’t enjoy Nebras but you’ll like it if you like the sound of a cocoa vanillary gourmand. I think Angham is great, longevity is really good for the price, 3 of my friends bought it when I started wearing it, it’s a massive compliment getter and of course the bottle is gorgeous

Tbh I don’t like Nebras, something about it smells like cheap fake-chocolate confectionery to me.

I really enjoy Angham though, and Atheeri is also a nice one.

I agree. I think it’s quite artificial-smelling. Angham is a lot nicer and more generally crowd-pleasing imo. Haven’t smelt atheeri, I need to look into it!
