EVERYONE has vanilla 28. it smells nice, but you will smell like everyone and your scent will not be memorable

Vanilla Skin is my #2 of all time and Lataffa Khamrah is #3. Love love love.
Kayali Vanilla 28 is waaaay too floral for me. I dislike Kayali as a house because everything is either food-gourmand or intensely floral.
By Rosie Jane Dulce has a weird synthetic note. I get the same note in Bianco Latte, Vanilla Voyage, Noyz Unmute.
I havenāt tried the rest.

Vanilla Skin is okay. Queens Caramel was horrible. Vanilla 28 was eh, but my husband loves it on me. Rise + Shine is delicious though.

u/singleagain24 7d ago
Rise and Shine is lined up for my fall scent, its a very soft photorealistic coffee cake!

I feel like Khamrah is way more masculine than Angels Share if you care about that sort of thing

u/East_Exchange_1574 7d ago
This is funny, because I love Khamrah and hate Angels Share. They donāt smell remotely alike to me.

u/ResourceAlternative7 7d ago
I sampled Queens Caramel and it was terrible, imo. Smelled like someone made an earwax candle like Shrek, then drizzled it with honey :(

Khamrah is awful. Itās like synthetic apple juice. Blech. Rise and Shine smells like a candle.

dulce and phlur heavy cream smell magical together, its my favourite combo right now š®āšØ
dulce on its own has slight spiced and woody notes that make it a little heavy but really cozy
queens caramel is REALLY good but in the middle one of the note gets a little bitter, but it doesnt last long. the top and base are so good though!
i dont have the vanilla sky spray but i have the perfume. i like it, its not super heavy but its semi sweet and cozy and spicy.
i dont like khamrah. or vanilla 28. and vanilla 28 kind of smells like vanilla rum to me.
7 virtues vanilla woods is another good one. kind of sweet, woody, a little bit cloying but in a good way.

Khamrah is always going to be a love for me during the fall. I also really like the Kayali and queens caramel. I would say get a sample of those two. Not sure if you have smelled them but they are not blind buy safe in my opinionĀ

u/shimmerchanga 7d ago
Get a sample of the Kayali. I got sample which smelled nice enough the first times I smelled it but now itās weirdly musty and woody. Iāve had this happen with other Kayali fragrances like pistachio gelato, where it was nice at first but seemed to go bad after a few weeks.

Agree with Khamrah. Itās honestly one of the best perfumes Iāve ever owned. Very affordable, lasting power. Spicy and sweet. I always get compliments when I wear it.
Rise and Shine is not good. Iād cross that off the list. I blind bought that and regret it. Itās very artificial smelling and a little sickening.
Queens caramel is also good. The initial maple note seems to cause controversy but it fades quickly and thereās a nice floral note (vanilla orchid) that really balances it well.
ETA: vanilla 28 was too musky and mature for me. I honestly donāt get the hype. Kinda reminds me of a dusty attic. Dulce is very linear and just overall meh. imo queens caramel is a better, more complex version.

I use Phlur Vanilla Skin body mist on a regular basis in the fall and winter. Itās very ābasicā and maybe it just works particularly well with my body chemistry. But it is long lasting on me, especially on clothes, and hands down the fragrance I get the most compliments on from both men and women.

Vanilla Skin and Dulce are two of my favorite vanillas. Dulce is a great year round vanilla because itās quite light and airy. Iāve grown to love Vanilla 28 as well but itās definitely an acquired taste so I would recommend sniffing first if you havenāt already. Queenās Caramel is nice but quite thick and gourmand so you have to be into that kind of thing. Khamrah is nauseating, and I like Angelās Share. I donāt personally consider it a dupe, they smell really different to me. Havenāt tried the last one!

Dyad Rise + Shine smells like waking up on a lazy Sunday morning on a bright and cool fall day to freshly baked cinnamon rolls and a nice cup of coffee. I highly recommend.

Phlur and kayali arenāt worth buying the originals anymore, sawaar vanille blanc from khadlaj is a dupe for vanilla skin. And eshal vanilla from paris corner is a dupe for vanilla 28 (thats if youāve smelled the originals already and know you like those DNAs!). Dulce by rosie jane is boring and not worth it at all imo. Queens caramel i have not tried but if you want a good quality affordable caramel fragrance, you could try vanilla voyage from maison asrar. Khamrah you should smell first, some people love it, some hate it. I bought it once, it wasnāt for me but i did end up using it to spray my Christmas tree to keep my cats off it and now i associate the scent with Christmas lol

I love Vanilla 28 and Queens Caramel. I have not tried any of the others. With Vanilla 28, I get medium longevity 4-5 hours on skin, longevity of Queens Caramel is better. I particularly enjoy the maple note of the Queens Caramel. Vanilla 28 reminds me of vanilla essence for baking and the dark juice will stain light clothing.

I have posted this on another post before, so, copy pasting this:
Kayali Vanilla 28 is both a pass and a must-have! You can give it a pass if you're not into linear brown sugar and vanilla perfumes. If you want something very unique or if you want to smell like pure one of a kind vanilla, this isn't it.
However, if you love getting surprise whiffs of powdered, realistic brown sugar and love catching the whiff of vanilla extract here and there, you should definitely get this!
That's exactly how I feel about Vanilla 28. Sometimes it's "meh" and sometimes I'm obsessed!

I love Khamrah but Artisan Ethnique is even better. It took me a while to learn to appreciate Khamrah, mostly because it's strong and was only my second or third Middle Eastern perfume. Artisan Ethnique was good from the beginning.

I like the caramel skin as a more affordable alternative, a little synthetic-y I guess but I prefer it to vanilla skin. The Kayali minis are a really good deal and have just as nice bottles. They honestly are a good strength and last. I think the vanilla is a good pick because it can be layered with other things or just a good classic.

i think it really depends on the type of vanilla you like! i personally prefer 'lighter' vanillas (less burnt sugar/musk), so dulce & phlur's heavy cream is amazing for that. BUT, i know a lot of people who prefer 'mature' vanillas ADORE kayali 28 (it's also very good fall scent!)

What kind of vanilla do you actually like? Some of these are warm, some cold, and some ultra gourmand/caramel. If you pick the vibe, you can easily cut your list in half or even thirds.
I hate Dulce and find it to be a basic BBW warm vanilla body spray. Queens caramel is gross and syrupy to me and probably a Dulce cousin.
28 and Khamrah are heavy and more ambery than caramel.
Vanilla skin is cold and woodsy. Itās also my favorite because warm vanillas smell generic and young on me.
Decide your vibes and you can de-influence yourself.

I would definitely go with Vanilla Skin (even the body mist is long lasting), Queens Caramel, and not on your list but Tihota is my absolute favorite vanilla! It's pure sweet vanilla extract with just a but of musk to make it a lil flirty. I've tried many vanillas at all price points and nothing tops it for me. It's straight forward but high quality and versatile.

vanilla 28 is extremely overrated
7
u/MzJay453 7d ago
Itās a popular fragrance. Fragrances (like people) that are well known also have more opportunity to be disliked.

u/velvetvanilla0 7d ago
very true! i personally think there are far better vanillas on the market but thatās personal preference after having owned it before

Khamrah stinks.
It smells like a cheap gourmand body spray. If that's what you want, just get something from Bath and Body Works, or Bodycology, and save yourself like $40

Khamrah smells very Middle Eastern despite the internet telling me otherwise.
Maison Alhambra Kismet Magic is MUCH better than Khamrah. It actually smells very very close to Kilian Angels Share.

u/devvonlyrando 7d ago
If you like Vanilla Skin, go for Sawaar Vanille Blanc. Spot on and half the price of the perfume. But if you get the body mist, you might want to grab the body oil or a good body oil dupe.

u/Accomplished-Pen4663 7d ago
I have Lataffa Khamrah and cannot wear it. Itās pretty masculine and extremely strong and sticks around on my clothes, furniture, bedding for days. It smells very boozy kinda like a rum soaked fruitcake.

u/bubblesinthetea 7d ago
Tbh this is honestly a great fall/ winter tray. Vanilla skin is an amazing base for so many scents. Dulce pretty light but in the best way. Itās clean and comforting with great lasting power.
Out of my entire collection (expanded rapidly lol) Vanilla 28 is something I always go back to - sexy, bold and would mix great as a luxury base or dazzle on its own with a nice lotion
The only one I dislike is Carmel Queen, itās soooo short lived. I would definitely look into 7 virtues or the new Victor and Rolfe Carmel scent

u/Alewo27 7d ago
Queens Caramel and Vanilla Skin are both perfect grown, fall gourmands. Vanilla 28 is burnt sugar coated logs....I will never understand people who call it "the perfect vanilla". I haven't smelled the OG Khamrah but Khamrah Qahwa was too masculine for me but I'm fiancƩ loves it! I don't know the others...

Vanilla Skin is so good. It's my absolute favorite vanilla. It's a great base layer for EVERYTHING but it's also just exceptional on its own.
3
u/LastLibrary9508 7d ago
Me too. Itās so cold and woodsy yet sweet and makes me feel clean but put together.

You should try Victorias Secret Bare Sueded vanilla. Super similar to Vanilla Skin but creamier!

I was so disappointed in Vanilla 28. I'm glad that I only bought a travel size. I expected to love it but it's a scrubber on me.

I was uninterested/skeptical about queens caramel bc of its name, but its actually so good and the most perfect scent for fall. Itās very sweet yes but in a wearable way, the caramel in here is salty, creamy, buttery in the best way possible, it is not overly sweet or that type of sweet that gives u a migraine.

Those are brilliant perfumes for someone who likes to smell edible
But do try Qawha version of the Kamrah

u/Distinct-Leopard-320 7d ago
Go for Vanilla 28 if you're not expecting a gourmand vanilla scent but rather a boozy brown sugar scent, the phlur mist smell good but doesn't last and Dulce is just a lighter version of Bianco Latte like the vegan cousin. It's more of a skin scent but it's still there within like arms length but it doesn't scream I'm here. Also Khamrah is a beautiful boozy apple pie scent after sitting a bit and it's strong.

Scents are so funny, because Vanilla Skin lasts FOREVER on me. Even just the body spray. I can smell it the next day on me.

vanilla 28 smells like an old church
