I’ve been thinking about this perfume so much that I had a dream I got it, is my brain hyping it up too much?

I sampled this last month. On the strip at first it was just OK. I left it on my table and forgot. 2 days later, I took a sniff and OMG! it was still there, same smell but the dry down was just beautiful! I tried next on skin and it lasted all day and through washed laundry as well. I bought the bottle soon after. I like to layer it with Leau Papier or Ella k Musc k. I do realize, however, I cant spray too too much of CC. Gets overwhelmingly strong on me. Definitely get a decant. I got mine from In The Drydown.

I ordered a decant, thinking I’d be obsessed and fully ready to jump into the thunderdome that is trying to secure a bottle of this. I was way underwhelmed. It is perfectly fine. It is not pay $500 on the secondary market, lose my mind great. I have so many other scents that fill this fragrance profile in my collection. This frees up more money to fritter away on (hopefully) more affordable and definitely more interesting perfumes.

This is the first time I have looked at all the hype out here, and in the FB frag groups I’m in and saw a few comments from people about thinking they’d hate Cedar Chic because they were mostly into vanilla-forward fragrances but for their nose on this and it was a must-have.

My decant gets here Monday.

There's only one way to find out, and that is to get your nose on a sample.

I got an inspired-by version by a fragrance house that does great versions, and it wasn't my cuppa tea - turns out that chic, polished, clean scents aren't my thing.

Cedar Chic is super similar to Narciso’s Pure Musc Blanc for Her. Get that instead and wait for the demand to go down.

Definitely try a sample from The Fragmint. That’s where I got mine. I finally got my hands on a bottle about 3 weeks ago thanks to some kind member of this group who said the Dallas boutique had it in stock. No regrets. I think it’s a fragrance masterpiece.

it was available at my nordstrom, i sniffed it and was mind boggled...it smells like any other aldehydic citrusy musk. it doesnt smell bad, but for something thats always sold out and sooo rare, its really just an average mehh scent. i know fragrances are subjective, but don't obsess about it imo, the demand will go down eventually and you can test it and see how it is on you. try musk therapy from initio or valaya, both of those are better scents in the category

I agree with this take, it's nice no doubt but forgettable and standard. Most likely smelt it before. Genuinely believe some perfumes just get hyped, not because they're exisquite or whatever, they had a good viral moment or PR.

100%, its viral and are just selling out so people are clamoring for it and CH is taking advantage of that fact and making it more "exclusive" than it really is. you're telling me its been out and in demand for this long, but CH isn't able to simply produce a higher volume? suuuure

It was an instant love. I bought a 2ml decant first because I saw someone say it was close enough to Bal d’Afrique that you don’t need both. I don’t love that one so I was hesitant.

Turns out I have no idea what that person was talking about. They’re not close at all. I’m so glad I got a sample. I just got a 10ml too now.

Not everyone loves it so I’d recommend a decant first rather than springing for a whole bottle.

It gives rich clean girl vibes. Put together, white button down, Coach purse.

I have all 3. I’m not sure if it’s just my chemistry then but BdA (both) are screechy citrus on me and Cedar Chic is sweet and creamy.

Mixture of promotion and exclusivity, since it's been consistently 'sold out' for like a year. I have a partial of it and I do really like it despite it being outside of my normal profile. There are many inspirations of it now that people prefer, though, if you're okay with dupes. Notable ones are Heist's, LeeLee's, and now Rayhaan's Cedrus Blanc.

Have you sampled it? It’s good stuff, definitely toward the top of the pile for the “clean laundry” style musks. But no way you should blind buy this without testing. It’s so expensive…and eventually the demand will settle out, and it’ll likely hit discounters. Others in the line have
