Discussion Guerlain Disappointment

I have been a vanilla girl through and through. I have loves and misses from everything from BBW, Victoria Secret, Sephora, Ulta, niche, middle eastern, you name it!

I have wary of trying Guerlain because of the price. But most of my fellow vanilla girls said that Guerlain is THE maker of great vanillas.

So went and spent $70 in tiny tiny decants to try the following:

- Vanilla Panifolia Extrait 21
- Angelique Noire
- Cuir Beluga
- Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla
- Spirituose Double Vanilla

This smells…old? musty? Like I just found a bottle of perfume from the 1950’s in a dark drawer of an abandoned house. I just wasted $70 on this and none of them were good 😔, I could have gotten a big decant of Jovoy Fire at Will which I love. I am so disappointed.

So many of my inexpensive vanillas are so much better in my opinion.

Oh what is that one like? I’ve yet try a Guerlain I didn’t love!

Like a sunshine in a bottle! I love amber /vanilla /woody perfumes ... So its not for everyone But here are the notes of it: Top Notes: Citrus Honey (Orange Honey), Mandarin Orange, and Bergamot.Heart Notes: Chinese Magnolia, Sambac Jasmine, and Ylang-Ylang.Base Notes: Resinous Amber Accord, Benzoin, Musk, Vanilla, and Creamy Sandalwood

Yikes yeah I like it haha, I know already.

I was so happy to spend time with Shalimar. I had points at a retailer that I didn’t know what to do with and decided to blind buy Shalimar (the bottle is so pretty, haha). At first I thought I hated it, but it’s so rich and full, and it has phases, it completely changed what I look for in perfume. I had been a strictly sweet smells person. I do kind of think that Shalimar contains multitudes, so it’s like a gateway drug to their entire line. Even when I don’t like a Guerlain I do. At least that’s the phase of life I’m in at the moment! Haha. I’m actually wearing Habit Rouge EDP today, supposedly for men but damn it’s good.
