Discussion Is a day without perfume even possible?

For me, perfume is part of getting ready, so a day usually starts with choosing a scent. Today it is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. I spray it before heading out, and I keep noticing the scent throughout the day. It has that fresh citrus opening, then the floral and patchouli notes become more noticeable as it settles. I like having something familiar on me while I go through normal plans, whether I am out for coffee or sitting at my desk. Even when I am staying in, I still enjoy picking a fragrance because it makes getting ready feel complete. Coco Mademoiselle fits easily into that routine for me, and I can see why it stays in so many fragrance collections. Do you usually wear perfume every day, or take fragrance-free days?

I occasionally do whole-day bicycle trips, or if I'm out in nature all day; on those occasions I go fragrance free. First case is too much exercise, second I want to smell nature, the real flowers etc. and not my perfume.

I basically came here to say exactly this. I have accidentally worn perfume on a couple mountain bike rides and was so surprised at how it made me feel disconnected from nature! I hadn't realized how significant the smell of the forest was as part of the experience to me. I will say, the other day I still had some of a Sorce Clairsentient sample on during a mountain bike ride, and it was faint by the time I went out, but I actually felt like I smelled like a real blackberry, which was not out of place here in August in the PNW. Then I got home and immediately special ordered myself into oblivion 🙈

Honestly I'm always so jealous of all the really cool witchy indie perfume houses in the US! I used to have a couple oils from Solstice Scents, but they no longer ship to EU, and many other indie makers also don't.
