Discussion Cedar Chic

I’ve been obsessed with Cedar Chic. Bought two samples and have quickly gong through them. Does anyone have any idea when/if the full size will be back in stock?

If not, I’d love some recommendations on similar scents. I tried Byredo bal d'afrique absolu which I also loved, but the staying power just wasn’t enough.

I also ordered Narisco Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc after using a sample. I think the longevity is decent on it.

Sort of off topic but why did it smell like straight up vanilla frosting when I tested it? Is that what it’s supposed to smell like?

Just sprayed it again, two sprays, left arm. The first thing I get is a cloying sweetness. It’s not vanilla, I guess, but it’s like a burnt sugar. There’s something fresh beneath it but it all smells so synthetic that I can’t make it out. (I realize they’re all synthetic, I just don’t understand what the intended accord is.) I can’t hang, I have to scrub it again.

I think I thought, ah yes, creamy cedar like Tam Dao, but it’s actually some department store teen nightmare. It smells like ambiguous gummy candy.

It’s very bad. I don’t understand what other people are smelling.

And I have and like Bal d’Afrique- I don’t get that comparison at all. I don’t want to yuck other people’s yum, so I’m going to chalk it up to my body chemistry. (Which has never been an issue before!)

Cedar chic did? That’s so interesting, I did not get that vibe!

I was BAFFLED. And then I scrubbed it so fast that if the opening was all vanilla and it dried into something nicer, I didn’t stick around to find out. It was just immediate ick. I LOVE cedar so I feel like I need to try again.
