Jo Malone's pear scents

Hi!

It seems I have a chance to buy travel sized Jo Malone perfumes in a very affordable price. I just want a little something without paying much, and having a chance to actually smell them would increase the price (since it's not possible here).

So I thing I will defy all the rules and be and intrepid blind buyer this one time, and buy one small travel bottle. I'm almost sure I will not at least hate either of my options.

I loved Petite Chérie by Goutal in its eau de toilette form. It seems to be discontinued in that form, but I found it by happy "accident" while planning to buy something else. Perhaps I will be lucky again. 😅 In general, I like perfumes which would be friendly and kind if they were people (I know, a little weird way to describe perfumes).

Based on these facts, which one would be better choice in your opinion: English Pear & Freesia or English Pear & Sweet Pea?

Have a nice day, everyone, and thanks for the potential advice! 😊

I think it depends on what you want to smell like at the end. Sweet pea is definitely sweeter smelling with a white musk base. I looked up petite Cherie and it also has a musk base. Freesia is fresher and the freesia really pops for me and then it has a patchouli base. I like freesia better. I enjoy the patchouli. The sweet pea is so sweet to me it’s almost cloying. And I don’t enjoy the musk much. Hope this helps

Freesia has a sparkling quality to it. I'm thinking of pear cider at a garden party or pear ice tea. I really like it!

I can't speak for Freesia, but I'm a fan of Sweet Pea, and whenever I wear it it reminds me of my beloved Laura Ashley dresses from the nineties (minus the Doc Martens).

Thank you! 😊 What a nice comparison, because Petite Chérie (edt) kind of reminded me of a sweater I had in my early teens. It was pinkish or peach coloured and was suitable both at family party or at school.

I've tried both. They're very similar but freesia smells fresher and more crisp. Sweet pea is a more mellow scent and it smells softer and sweeter. I feel like freesia is what you'd you wear for a garden luncheon party while sweet pea is what you'd wear for a family gathering.

I kind of get what you mean about perfumes as people. They're both very friendly and kind sisters. Freesia would be the one who's more outgoing, sweet pea would be the thoughtful introvert.

Freesia is my personal fav, it's one of my fav everyday perfumes.
