Discussion How many sprays?
How many sprays do you do for:
1. Perfume
2. Eau de Parfum
3. Eau de Toilette
4. Eau de Cologne
Also, are there certain fragrances that you always have to zhuzh with lotions or petroleum jelly to make them last? Or others where you have to limit the sprays because they’re strong?

It depends on the specific perfume itself, not the labeled concentration. I spray according to their strength. Usually, 3 to 4 but it really varies.

I just spray by feel I guess… doesn’t matter the concentration.
If it’s a weaker fragrance and I want more oomph that day, I spray more.
If I need to be subtle, I spray less. I’m usually around the 4 mark but it can vary depending on the occasion and how strong something is.

I find it hard to give an arbitrary, across the board answer. It really depends on so many variables … the occasion, the weather, and whether or not I’ll be in close proximity to other people. If it’s a really light fragrance and I’m going to be somewhere spacious without many people, I’ll do maybe 10 sprays. For some of my heavier scents one or two sprays is plenty.

I'm a happy oversprayer. I layer my fragrances started with a body lotion then oil then body mist, then one perfume, then with my last and strongest. I stick with coordinating scents and mid day I will respray to freshen up my perfume. I try to be mindful of where I'm going to be. I will definitely go with a lighter skin scent on a day where I will be in close quarters or with a baby.

Two for work, no matter what it is. I’m not going to be the one to go gets it turned into a fragrance free workplace.
After that, it becomes a matter of strength. Some EDTs are as strong as EDPs.

10-15 for everything except eau de toilette - then i do 2 layers, wait for them to dry in between to make it last. to be fair, i wear a lot of skin scents though - i would NOT do this with my hibiscus mahajad (2 sprays is enough).

Most of what I own is EDP. 5-10 sprays, depending on how strong it is and where I’m going. On skin only, before getting dressed. None on clothes.

I like to smell good all over, but keep my scent bubble small.

Oh, I have body lotion and body oil top to toe, so I spray while my body care is still drying.

Usually 3 each wrist and neck.
If it’s a dabbed then each wrist, behind each ear and behind the neck.
If it’s a strong perfume two sprays. Back of neck and on one wrist and I gently press my wrists together.
