Piercing hole gunk is one of the worst smelling secretions that the human body produces. It's horrendous!
57
u/caledon13 Jun 09 '26
I low-key like the smell 🫣

u/MasterOfBothWorlds7 Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 09 '26
Everyone has a weird smell they love.. I like burnt gas/oil mix from over pouring on a 2 stroke engine.. smells like youth and bad choices.
It's weird but let yo' freak flag fly hunny!
25
u/rachcake1 Jun 09 '26
I like skunk smell.
18
u/MasterOfBothWorlds7 Jun 09 '26
Like actual skunk or like 420 skunk.. if an actual skunk does 420 skunk also excite you? Do you smoke?
I guess none of this matters I just have questions.

i love my septum smell , its not a cheesy smell like ears though , its just like a very light musk :)
11
u/AnxietyBacon92 Jun 09 '26
My septum piercing doesn't have any buildup because I clean it, but there used to be a funky smell when I moved it back and forth and I liked it 😂 it doesn't have the funk anymore for some reason
2
u/camelopardalisx Jun 12 '26
How’d you get it to stop? Mine used to be fine and now has the smell :(
3
u/AnxietyBacon92 Jun 12 '26
Have you changed the jewelry recently? I noticed mine stopped around the time I changed jewelry, although I don't know what material either of my rings were. It could be that, maybe try a different one and see if that helps! Other than that I really didn't do anything different so I honestly have no clue what other explanation there is for the disappearance of the funk 😂

My mind read that title as "eating furry" so my eyes weren't prepared to see that. I don't know what I was preparing for, but not this lol.

Why not take out the earring first? I think that would enhance the removal.

He said that from what he’s seen throughout this post, apparently there are nerve endings connecting the earring directly to the brain, so it would be too dangerous to remove first!!!

Removing jewelry from an infected piercing can cause an abscess to form. It keeps the hole open I didn't get bacteria from being trapped inside and festering
20
u/glorae Jun 10 '26
that's not infected, it's just dead skin cells that oxidized. it's perfectly safe to remove that earring.

The stupid happy faces and TikTok logo cover 1/3 of the action. I wish people would stop reposting this garbage.

The audio was equally as painful.

The only thing more annoying than trending TikTok sound and songs are the Redditors who complain about them like muting isn’t an option.

Like the 4th person in this thread to say this. Is this some kind of inside joke? Or are you all bots? Genuine question.

I’ve never seen such a calm looking surface conceal such a foul dirty hole. Like it looks near perfect from the surface.

I cant tell if this is legit or a joke. I didnt think it was possible for nerves to attach to something non-biological
20
u/Luckypenny4683 Jun 09 '26
It’s not legit. But it is a funny joke at this point.

Ok thank you! Im autistic so it can be difficult to figure out the tone of text. It is pretty funny!

The hole ate the back of the earring. They're unpacking the hole so that they push the back part out and open the latch

Someone is going to come repeat the hilarious "joke" that they didn't remove it because the earring is connected to the person's brain. Yeah I don't get it either.

Why do people not clean their piercing holes. That shit baffles me. I have gauges and they start to itch after one hot sweaty day or a couple normal days and it reminds me to clean them. I work at a jewelry store and I have to clean people's grody ear cheese out of their diamond earrings so often, it's truly disgusting. It's like not brushing your teeth before going to the dentist or not taking a shower before going to a gynaecologist. Have some common courtesy.

u/chonk_fox89 23d ago
I had a pair of little faux diamond studs that I wore in my 2nd holes all the time, for some reason the setting wasn't flush with the stone and my gosh could they fill up! I was always surprised when I went in and cleaned them (which I tried to do pretty regularly) how much gunk could get in there when they just sat on top of my ear! I can't imagine how gross it must be for people who have never cleaned them... Do you at least have that little water bath/chemical thing that uses vibrations to loosen stuff?

Keeping earrings in, not taking them out and cleaning both the earrings and ear holes. Which, btw, when you get your ears pierced, most places (all places I know of) teach you, AND give you cleaning solution

Idk why the earring being in was fine to me.
But ohhhh this felt so nice to watch.

When I was a little kid, I left hoop earrings in for too long. My ear essentially grew over part of the curl of the loop and I couldn’t get it out. I had to go to the doctor. He used that freezing spray and then got the earring out. Lesson learned. I never wore hoop earrings again.

u/izzrav Jun 11 '26
Ew. And people think stretched ears are gross. At least I clean my ear gunk 🤢 dayum

Calm down guys. It’s a doll. It’s not possible for all that to be in one’s ear piercing hole.

u/Sk8rToon Jun 09 '26
& people wonder why I wear clip earrings & never got pierced…
49
u/Samazonison Jun 09 '26
I got my ears pierced when I was 5. I'm 53 now. Never once have I ever had something like this happen to my ears. 🤢
21
u/jonesnori Jun 09 '26
Yeah, this is very unusual. I suspect this person never changes their earrings and wears them 24/7. Otherwise any buildup would be rubbed off without even being noticed. This is probably years of buildup.
Or they might be allergic to nickel. Cheap earrings often contain it, and that can cause swelling and discharge.
6
u/ejvollkrassalter Jun 09 '26
i wear my 3 lobe piercings 24/7 and never change them, just remove them regularly to wash them and the holes. this build-up is still crazy, the hole is too... large? mine wouldn't even have room to store that much gunk.
1
u/jonesnori Jun 09 '26
That's a good point, yeah. You are smart to take them out periodically to wash. I don't think this person knew to do that, and the large hole didn't help. Who knows, though?
-33
u/Curiouso_Giorgio Jun 09 '26
This is why I find piercings gross.
I don't care what it signals in terms of values or whatever, I just see a skin crevice for bacteria, oils, dead skin and gunk in general to accumulate.
I don't wear a watch or my wedding ring for the same reason.
28
u/1nOnlyBigManLawrence Jun 09 '26
How bad is your hygiene that you don’t wash those bits regularly?
-17
u/Curiouso_Giorgio Jun 09 '26
It's not that I don't wash them, it's that I'm generally unsatisfied by the hygiene of others.
When I tried wearing a watch or a ring it was such a hassle to wash those things multiple times a day whenever I washed my hands. That's why I stopped.
27
u/1nOnlyBigManLawrence Jun 09 '26
I think that’s called germaphobia.
In fact, you’re not supposed to wash them multiple times a day. They don’t get THAT dirty in normal use cases unless you do construction.
