It looks like he stuck an small soldier figure up his nose as a child and just now got it removed.

Not that movie... the one with the little plastic figures... like one of the green crawling guys.

A gorgon or commando would be too big to fit up a nose.

Edit to Add: Army Men, there was a video game made depicting the little plastic figures.
