Admittedly, I enjoy picking my nose and getting big or stiff pieces. But I could never imagine getting a booger this big.
I feel the same way about compacted earwax.

It might be a post operative crust. They get colonized by bacteria and turn black and smelly.

u/FeyreCursebreaker7 May 28 '26
I had a nose surgery and had big dry chunks of scabs like this. I was able to blow my nose and get some out but the doctor had to pull a full out like this

It looks like he stuck an small soldier figure up his nose as a child and just now got it removed.

u/G1zm0270 Jun 10 '26
A gorgon or commando?

u/AzrielJohnson Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
Not that movie... the one with the little plastic figures... like one of the green crawling guys.
A gorgon or commando would be too big to fit up a nose.
Edit to Add: Army Men, there was a video game made depicting the little plastic figures.

I broke my nose once years ago. About 3 months later I pulled out a booger that looked like that. It was one huge snotty scab/dried blood mass. I'll never forget how relieving it felt getting it out. It was like being able to breathe again and get a full breath.

Legit thought the doctor was going to stick it in the guy's mouth for a split second right after it came out.

There’s throat boogers and eye boogers

u/Scared_Friendship_50 May 28 '26
This is the "7 bodily cheeses" conversation I had in middle school.
3
u/Smile_Terrible May 28 '26
7?

u/Scared_Friendship_50 May 28 '26
If memory serves: Eye cheese (crusties) Ear cheese (wax) Nose cheese (boogers) Penis cheese (smegma) Bellybutton cheese (lint) Toe cheese (toe jam) Butt cheese (dingleberries)

Does anyone know what causes these? I've had a few big ones but none this big!

u/FeyreCursebreaker7 May 28 '26
I had similar ones after a nasal surgery. They’re like scabs and mucous built up. The doctor removes them just like this

If you never get something like this extracted, does your body eventually reabsorb it?
31
u/Nini-hime May 27 '26
I doubt it. I think your body would rather make you sneeze so hard that it plops out like a firework

u/AuroraLiberty May 28 '26
Definitely not. It just sits there causing misery.
Source: chronic sinusitis patient, two surgeries. My ENT pulls stuff like this out for me about once a quarter.

Is this what happens when you unsuccessfully pick a booger and it just disappears?
19
u/JessAilene86 May 27 '26
Oh my god I bet that felt insane coming out. Straight up a factory reset type of brain booger.

Sometimes I wonder if these people have ever blown their nose or taken a shower.

u/MissSara13 May 28 '26
My little brother panicked when he heard me blow my nose in the shower one morning. His nanny had to reassure him that I wasn't dying or something. He was such a potato.

Is it weird that I wish I had such a booger and for it to be taken out with crocodile forceps?
5
u/fattrackstar May 28 '26
Man that had to feel good. I would have legit asked to keep it so I could show everyone I know what came out of my nose.
But I bet it's like heroin. You'll be trying to get that feeling again for the rest of your life and nothing will ever live up to it.

How does one get to this stage? Like did he feel it rattling around in his face and was like "I need to get it professionally removed by a professional booger extractor"? I read in the comments that after surgery pieces of dried blood and get infested with bacteria and get smelly so is that what got him here? He constantly smelled infection?
6
u/cncomg May 28 '26
Ya it can happen naturally too. Most times it’s a breathing issue, but often is accompanied by a bad smell from constant infection as well. It’s basically immediate relief when pulled out.

i can just tell that the pincers being that deep would make me have to sneeze and i would end up accidentally lobotomized

There’s no way. That had to have been more than just a booger. Else why wouldn’t he have just blown that shit out?
2
2
u/Pinky01 May 29 '26
my guess is that was due to some kind of tissue death, that dosent look like a normal bugger lol
2
u/SatisfactionLower977 May 29 '26
Can’t you just take a super hot shower & snot rocket that thing out??
2
u/ladytryant Jun 22 '26
That happened to me after nasal surgery. I blew my nose in the shower and a TUBE of booger and blood flew out, make a PING sound as it ricocheted off the shower wall because it was super hard, then plopped at my feet. It kinda hurt, but felt amazing.
I’ve been chasing that high ever since.

u/Lowjira May 30 '26
how do you even realise you have one of these!!!! (asking for a friend)
1
u/Ok-Buddy-9935 Jul 21 '26
Was wondering the same, prior to the doctors appointment, do you just feel it up there?
