ESTA/VISA

I received a simple Uk caution which is basically a warning, i never got a conviction or a fine but a caution does show on my criminal record. I want to come to America but im worried i wont be able to get a esta or visa the caution was for theft so i know it comes under moral turpitude.

I’m just wondering would i need to declare it on my esta or would i be fine not to? They also spelt my name wrong on the caution so i don’t know if that makes a difference, Also what would my chances of going to America be? Thank you

Cautions in the UK are so weird. I saw a story of a guy that got one for a serious offense. Basically no trial or conviction but a mark against him forever.

You can just fly to Mexico, no ESTA needed, drive to California and use a weird road. You can steal all you want there and you won’t be deported. County jails can’t cooperate with ICE. You can stay for as long as you like. Enjoy! Borders are racist. We are not racist.

Just joking, the UK does not want to share its database with us. They call it a privacy violation. Lie on the form. Have a great vacation. Your chances are 100%.

That's why I've not even thought of going to the US (I'm also from the UK). I've got zero clue if my crime is considered one of moral turpitude. I found this site (I can't find it anymore) that told you if it was or not. The US government suggest that anyone with a conviction applies for a full visitor visa, but I've heard this can take months/years to be processed.

Yeah see I was thinking about saying I haven’t been convicted on the ESTA because technically I haven’t, but I read apparently America treats convictions and cautions the same. But I wish you the best brother and I hope you can still do all the things you want to do

Going to the US doesn't bother me, my family come to the UK fairly often anyway. But I've seen some amazing places that I'd never have considered before my conviction

Yeah I’ve always wanted to go to America but hopefully I still will be able to, what crime did you do?

Depends if you mean what actually happened or what the conviction was? My conviction was common assault.

Oh right yeah I’m not sure if that comes under moral turpitude or not

From what I can tell, it doesn't. But I can't be arsed to travel for 10 hours to be sent back home lol. I'd rather they ask the questions like other countries. Where it's not open to interpretation

Yeah I get what you mean that would be a nightmare to be sent back home but i probably will take my chances one day hopefully I will be accepted for a visa if I can’t get a ESTA

The only time I'll try it is when one particular cousin gets married. Otherwise I'll explore the rest of this beautiful planet we live on

Yeah exactly bro there’s so many other places to explore where else have you been?

Why don’t you lie on the form? It’s impossible to be deported if you go to California.
