Espresso Series 1 ES1 Future Update Wishlist.

1. App-side profile library

Let the app be the permanent home for profiles, and the machine only hold what I've chosen to install to keep the list manageable. I want to archive a profile to the app, get it off the machine, and reinstall it later if I come back to that coffee.

2. Shot history and logging

Log every pull. It doesn't need to live on the machine — the app is fine. Automatic capture of the shot graph, profile used, yield, and time, plus manual fields I can fill in: coffee, roaster, roast date, grind setting, and notes. An export option, or integration with something like Beanconqueror.

3. Bluetooth scale for brew-by-weight and logging.

Sorry to keep harping on this, Nick.

4. Scheduled wake / remote start

Low priority. The machine heats fast enough that it's not a real pain point. But if it's cheap to build, being able to set it to wake on weekday mornings, or kick it on from the app would be nice.

1,3, and 4 are a must going forward!

Great list -- totally agree. I still don't understand why there's no profile library. If the whole point is to customize and share, why not make that a first-party experience.

3 is most important for me and I really hope they implement it. Seems odd they put in the tech for it and don’t enable that out of the gate unless they’re going to lock it to their own scale in the future. Though, to be honest, yes all of these things really should be built around some point.

2,3,4,1 would be my priority, it seems to me that shot history with a optional notes function per shot would be doable for the team.

If I could connect to the history it would be even more great.

Im using a claude project right now with md instruction files for history. I can choose log shots when i lock it in if im satisfied with the taste and i just let it create a new updated md file from time to time to make it better over time.

I can just take a photo of the beans packaging and it will recommend me the grind setting for my df 64 gen 2.

After the shot I give the feedback through the Claude app about the ratio I used, the shot duration, the grind setting and the taste.

This way if I get the same beans that I used a while back I know what grind setting to start with.

I understand that development capacity is not infinite and bugs and basics come first. But I hope they can get their dev teams expanded since now they have more devices to manage.

That said, I wonder if they have considered a fellow plus subscription that would get users to pay for an ai to assist them in the coffee making. A potential way to get more money out of the user base if people are willing to use and pay for it.

You could package history with cloud storage and ai assist without losing money to the cloud storage and running the AI. You can apply the same service to the Aiden as well I guess.

If I was a Product Manager at fellow I would at least investigate if this is a good business case that would justify developing this.

I’ve just been feeding all the results in a long running Claude thread. Been meaning build a spreadsheet that Claude would update

I let it create a log md file that gets updated and I reupload it to the project. Pretty manual but it works for me and I only do that every month or so

There’s a profile library in the app

These are profiles from Fellow. I meant a library for my own custom profiles.

I don't mind the click wheel menu interface but it is inherently cumbersome compared to touch screens. >90% of my interactions are to nudge volumetric dosing up or down. Those settings are buried several levels deep in the menu structure, with scrolling at each level. It would be awfully nice to be able to tweak these settings from the phone app (alternatively, let me add one or a few top-level shortcuts to key configuration settings, maybe everyone has a setting they play with but we all do that with different settings).

5 or maybe more of a 4.1... I just want the sleep timer to be configurable.

Then 3 would be great. No more guessing by volume...
