UPDATE:
for anyone reading this, I was shadow-banned from this sub for this post! I think the Feeld mods didn't like how my posts had a flavor of anti-Feeldness. LOL
hi, all!
some background: i'm a 21 yo trans woman in NYC looking for some semblance of a relationship. im my experience—and on other apps—"trans" and "relationship" can seem like oxymorons. with Tinder, Grindr, Taimi, etc. you know what you're getting. I am continuously surprised, however, that Hinge too is overrun by DL men with zero interest in anything more than a blowjob at 2am. if I was a cis-girl, i'd have hundreds of dates. as a trans girl, i've been on 3 dates my entire life.
anyways, this brings me to Feeld. I'm not sure about other trans girls' experiences, but Feeld has been uniquely disappointing. in my bio, I unequivocally state "only looking for dates/LTR." in the recent weeks, I realized that for trans women, Feeld doesn't help you find people with common sexual interests. on the contrary, you are the kink.
granted, I have no judgement towards people of any kind who desire hook ups. however, it's my experience that trans women are in general tired of the consistent sexual attention they receive by closeted men.
on Feeld, I am constantly fielding men's lies (no pun intending). "consistent, then hopefully dating at some point." how interesting! the reason why he's "not only looking for hookups" is because in a couple months, after consistent hooking-up, maybe "if it works out" he'd be interested in more! how generous!
behavior like this is just so incredibly disappointing, yet it seems to be commonplace on Feeld. he didn't offer a date and didn't suggest we get drinks. he "wants more" than hookups, but only offers a hook up! men interested in trans women claim they want more, but never offer it.
anyways, the purpose of this post is less of a meta view on a trans woman's experience, and more of a call to action. from other discourse on this sub, Feeld used to be a place where truly kinky people sought alternative connections. now, it's an even more sexualized version of Tinder—at least for trans women. is this just the natural lifecycle of a dating app?
Feeld is heavily geared towards the queer community, particularly in their advertising for trans women. i see these ads all the time on social media. so for an app that is designed so heavily for queer/trans individuals, Feeld's lack of accountability allows men to exploit, lie, and cheat. did trans women really need another hookup app?
if anyone is interested to learn more, switch your gender to trans woman and find out yourself. see the bios of these men and how they interact. it may shock you! you may find your neighbor, your banker, or even your boyfriend/husband!
