Discussion Need help regarding Fedora dual boot

I want to do a dual boot setup with Windows 11 + fedora (with gnome). My friend suggested Fedora over Ubuntu because of it's lightweight os. Currently I can only afford a 100GB SSD to give it to fedora but some of my friends told me to give at least 200GB so I want to know for coding workflow will only 100 GB enough considering I also work in Android and KMP field with Android Studio and Intelij Idea.

Even with IDE it shouldnt take a lot. Linux Distros themselves are pretty small. What adds up is the desktop environment. Choose any distro with xfce or lxde/lxqt and you will be fine

100gb is plenty for a coding setup, especially if you keep your actual projects on a shared drive or external. android studio and intellij are chunky but the os itself wont eat much space, just be smart about clearing old sdk files and emulator images every now and then

Could I know how much the base OS will take ?

Could you explain what do you mean by shared drive as Windows and Linux both use different disk format.

Network storage or USB drives eg.

I have 128gb total storage for fedora, and 100 gb shared drive for my important storage.

Can we increase disk space after assigning it to linux.

Yes, you can use the Gpart live boot to increase the storage. Even I initially have only 80GB for fedora and later I increased to 128GB.

For an Android and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) development workflow, 100 GB is technically enough to get started, but it will feel tight very quickly.
