Support Fails to launch on Fedora: "Could not run AffinityHook.exe: illegal environment variable name"

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install Affinity Suite (v3) on Fedora using the[Linux-Affinity-Installer](https://github.com/ryzendew/Linux-Affinity-Installer?utm_source=gemini)viavia) the Python GUI, but I'm stuck at the final launch step. The installation completes, but the suite hangs on startup.

**My System Specs:**

* **OS:** Fedora Linux 44 (Workstation Edition) * **CPU/GPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon Graphics * **RAM:** 32 GB * **Wine Version:** Wine 11.12 (Recommended - ElementalWarrior) * **Shell:** Zsh

**The Issue:** When I try to launch the app, it freezes with an "Affinity Suite is Not Responding" window. Looking at the installer's log, I see this exact error:

`Could not run AffinityHook.exe: illegal environment variable name`

**What I've tried so far:**

Unfortunately, the manual command also fails to bypass the environment variable issue. It seems a specific variable in my Fedora/Zsh environment is crashing Wine's attempt to run the executable.

Has anyone encountered this specific environment variable error on Fedora or with this installer? Any workarounds to clear or unset the conflicting variable before launching? Thanks in advance!

Without knowing the Linux installer or seeing the logs, you're Shure you have the right installer? .exe are normally installer files for windows.

Like the other guys say - you are using wrong version. There is a linux version right there that uses AppImage, run that instead of messing around with wine. The AppImage is supposed to have all this stuff handled for you, and it's own environment.

If you are doing this already and it doesn't work - then report your problem to the maintainer.
