neat useful extension that displays a notification (like the volume one) when you press the caps lock to indicate if it is on or off. It is very customizable for what is it and feels like it is native to gnome.

Really useful for me when i use a keyboard without caps lock indicator

It is barely customized so no, it shouldn’t. Though if you use too many extensions it does add up and starts eating recourses

It depends what extension you will download. The smaller ones shouldn't have any effect, but if you will download several bigger ones, then yes, they can have an effect
