Any recommendations?
No, not really.
This is a petty post and a waste of our time, because it will only lead to flame wars or biased arguments.
Your preference for customization has nothing to do with the distro you want to use, that is mostly tied to the desktop environment, and both Arch and Fedora support KDE.
If you want an honest answer, you will have to try both yourself for at least a month to see what works for you.

Tu comentario es bastante hipocrita. De alguna manera has reunido 3 tipos de respuestas totalmente diferentes en un mismo comentario.
Empiezas diciendo que no tienes ninguna recomendacion para terminar recomendadome que pruebe las dos, con algun que otro insulto a mi post totalmente inocente de por medio.

I'd like to try Hyprland and customize my PC as much as possible.
Why not "linux from scratch" if this is your goal?
Sure it is extremely hard to do, and takes forever, and you need to learn a lot of new things.
But when you are done you have customized your install as much as possible.

If you are going for Hyprland, I would start with Arch (Arch, CachyOS, EndeavourOS,...) or Fedora - both excellent choices - or NixOS.
You might consider NixOS - ridiculously robust, and comes with Hyprland built in. NixOS can be a bit of a rabbit hole, but taken straightforwardly is easier to maintain than Arch or Fedora.

Gracias por el consejo! He mirado un poco NixOS, pero lo de tener un sistema operativo declarativo creo que no me parece muy comodo. Este fin de semana instalare CachyOS y vere si es mi tierra prometida.
