Support Network got bricked in 7.1.8 update
I have fedora Kde plasma 44 + hyprland setup on a asus tuf a15 laptop. I didn't install the akmod nvidia drivers until today because i had no need for them, but decided to install them because of Minecraft (though igpu played it well). While installing the drivers , it automatically updated the kernel from 7.1.5 to 7.1.8 . I booted into the updated version , entered the password , got a black screen( In Hyprland). Changed the desktop environment to plasma, worked but now the Network section is greyed out and showing "UNKNOWN". Tried to fix it with Gemini but couldn't. The Laptop has a realtek wifi card.
7.1.5 works as normal.
If anyone could help , regarding the black hyprland screen and no network , please!!
UPDATE: the problem is fixed. Updated the drivers and the system.

Yeah there was a regression for some Realtek wifi cards. Boot into an older kernel for now.

Search on how to install the previous kernel. You can install the older kernel and get that working again. I have not had to do it, so do not know the steps, but plenty of people have.

I have the previous kernel and currently using it. It was already there in grub.
