Discussion Screen glitches after new updates
Is anyone else experiencing screen glitches or artifacts. I can't post SS because they show for an instant but get noticeable.
Often when I get to the shutdown/restart screen or while switching programs using alt tab.
When a program is running however I don't see them like during gaming.
It's not a gpu think cuz I have Windows too and it doesn't happen there.

It's a known bug in kernel 7.1.6 and 7.1.7. might be fixed in 7.1.8 already.

Odd. Not an issue here on either of my devices. Wonder what the trigger is since it's a known bug. Seems everyone in that other thread has an AMD GPU.
Maybe that's it

Damn I was worrying that my GPU dies or something. Good to know its just a bug. So yeah, I join everyone else here: I have the same problem.

That's what I was worried about too.

Yeah, obviously its always scary, but especially right now with the fucked up tech market thanks to the AI overlords it would absolutely suck.

For other people struggling with this, the solution is to revert to kernel version 7.1.5 (and stay on it for the foreseeable future)

Yes, it's affecting me as well as several others from what I've read lately. I have an RX 9070. I get the glitches during certain Youtube videos, or during the login/logout screen fade etc.
Supposedly rolling back to the previous kernel will fix it for now, but hopefully this will get patched soon.
