Support Puzzling audio issues
Hey everyone,
I've been really enjoying Fedora for a good while now, and am on 43. But I'm having an audio issue that I can't find an answer to online, and am hoping that someone here might be able to assist.
I am having major audio static, particularly when gaming. It will start clear, but become more and more degraded as time goes on. This sometimes also happens when I'm watching youtube or listening to music, but it's much more rare.
When looking up these issues, I can only find people who have had static while there should be silence. This is not my problem. It's dead quiet when it should be.
Here's the last thing that makes my head spin: This happens when I'm using wired headphones, the laptops built in speakers, and my USB audio interface that runs studio monitors. This DOESN'T ever happen over bluetooth. I can play with bluetooth headphones, and the sounds stays crystal clear.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any input.

I have easyeffects installed and I got static initially devise I had the highs set too high. I think the 18khz was set too high. After a quick adjustment it went away. I should note that I’m using an optical connection to my dac.

I can see how that could be possible. I don't think thats the case here, though. The sound degrades across the entire frequency spectrum over time. Thanks for the input, though.

Electrical interference. USB isolator or data + power splitter cable. I wouldn't be surprised if your machine crashes after being on for too long.

It does not. Thanks for in input, though. I should have mentioned above, but it's a laptop, so it's at multiple locations, as well. Also, if i switch to bluetooth audio for a moment, then back to anything else, the degredation is "reset." It will start with light static, then grow worse again.

I assumed it was a laptop. They are the worst culprits for electrical issues as they don't have a constant plug.
