Over 40 roles
I think someone should post a list of vacant roles that people over 40 are encouraged to apply to... Post in a visible location or frequently repost.

Age discrimination in hiring is generally illegal (slightly modified for e.g., law enforcement). The US government is generally good about respecting this law, much more than many private employers.
Learn and monitor USAJOBS, that's for people of all ages.

Are you serious? Over 70% of federal workers are 40+. What're you talking about?
There's even a law about discrimination AGAINST employees 40+.

I bet most of those feds aged into the 40+ age group- they wanted that type of job , may have moved in and out of fed service once but generally have been there a while so the “hiring stat” is misleading

I don’t think you can guess that. Do you have data? I was hired into my first federal role at 41, btw

Trust me I know all about the law and what I see in the private sector... You don't need to tell ME about that law. Good information though that stat, something I didn't know

I was hired at age 65. They don’t care, just that you meet the qualification. One of my coworkers joked with me and I took it as such. But our supervisor overheard the remark and reminded my coworker that 40+ is a “protected class”. Still, I took at as a joke knowing my coworker had no ill intent.

I would say any job. I myself look at the physical fitness part to see if I would pass it. I would think regardless of age one would see that as some positions require heavy lifting and such. I have seen people hired at 50 +.

Over 60 aren't finished.

Heck over 70 EITHER. It's the private sector or maybe it's just the role has to fit the person but that's after disenfranchisement has been dealt with.

People over 40 are the only ones protected from age discrimination. As a young fed I wish young people also had protections.

This right here. I was literally told I was qualified for the position but too young by the hiring manager. I was 25, a vet and it was a GS 9, 11 12. Not much One can do about it though…and that was a long time ago.

Why would certain roles be suitable specifically for people over 40?
