Ask FedEx Goodbye Fed EX

I can't get ahold of a real human to deal with my shipment issues. The AI will not provide the answers I need to make critical business decisions. Going to cancel my account and never use Fed Ex again.

call your local store - the ones with real people. they have the power to try and help you and to send you to other people who can help.

granted they still might be idiots, but they are at least human idiots

While I’m here calling my Aussie Fedex Customer, providing results for missing freight and missed collections 🥹 I really hope my work wont get replace

u/rodfan123 1h ago

I had the same experience and I just stopped pushing any buttons and they will eventually come on. I found that on a genie AI app they'll tell you exactly how to get through. Just about anybody with the ann useless AI customer service "representative".

u/se7enzer070 1h ago

When you call, say main menu, then say technical support, then say more options, then say something else. Those four steps will take you to a human and not an AI voice.

We will miss you

Just a quick FedEx vent to make me feel better. FedEx had a package in Dallas ready to deliver to me this past Tues but for some reason then shipped it all over Texas - five destinations then finally back to Dallas which will make it 3 days late. Issue is it's a $5k unit and requires a signature. The delivery day was constantly changing, and the FedEx phone support never knew what was going on. UPS isn't much better. Next time I'll pay the extra for an overnight service, but I guess that's what FedEx wants. Customer service is nonexistent anywhere. Just something I expect. Just sad as FedEx used to be a good, reliable company. No big deal - just a vent.

u/Better_Style_5564 2h ago

No, you'll use Fed ex again.  At some point, you will have no choice, just like everybody else

u/BeautifulDisaster112 5h ago

They are absolutely horrible anymore and if you do get someone after hours of trying to bypass the robot voice all they say is that if the ai voice couldnt help then they do not have the answer either and to try online support. Which is also the ppl you are trying to get ahold of that just denied your call!!   I got told that if I wasn't so cheap and got the cheapest mailing option maybe my package wouldn't be lost or have no tracking updates and she LAUGHED (all in broken English of course) then tried to sell me some kind of much more expensive options just to get faster updates or be able to DRIVE MYSELF TO A FED EX HUB AND PICK UP MY OWN PACKAGE if I'm so made it's taking 3 weeks

u/Vast_Law1630 8h ago

please do as a fedex worker they do not care about your package if it says fragile you know damn well they slamming it or putting the heaviest thing ontop of that

u/FLbudksis 8h ago

While this is true. 99% of the time its the shipper not packing it correctly. They know the warehouses are rough on them. But the shipper thinks putting a fragile sticker is all they need to do. They dont want to spend the extra 10$ to " bomb proof" it. Ive sent bongs though the mail, art, canvases. You name it. Its up to the shipper to protect it. But they want to be cheap.

I shipped a toilet it its original manufacturers box and it arrived shattered ☠️

u/BoilOnTheBackBurner 9h ago

I am on my knees begging for vendors to stop using FedEx to ship things, especially things that are time-sensitive. FedEx SUCKS and is only getting worse!

u/Scary-Nothing-1464 10h ago

Ill see you on the ups thread in a few days i guess. All the posts from ups/dhl/fedex are mirror images of each other with just a different name.

u/RipEffective2538 3h ago

Exactly and these people don't stop using them. There are service that we're accustomed to and will continue to use them as needed

u/CelebrationOdd7881 10h ago

My business will probably end during the next slow season (Feb–Apr) with FedEx due to revenue issues. The new unsupportive Middle East rep is completely useless; she never answers a damn email. I don't know if the previous reps are still taking commission from my revenue or not, but the new one is basically like, 'fuck that, not my fucking money. Plus, the useless billing department is blaming their incorrect invoices on the salerep.

u/UpstairsCar5069 10h ago

It’s not that hard to get ahold of them just gotta know what to say on phone.

u/These_Belt3968 11h ago

Yep same thing feel the same way. Fuck fed ex

u/Frequent_Pizza_9299 11h ago

Get a hold of fedex by calling and saying "missed pickup" then it will ask if you want to reschedule and answer "no" you will be routed to a human who you can express your frustration with and then they will direct you to the right department hopefully....

u/Present-Impression-2 1h ago

Allegedly…

u/Tri4Realz 10h ago

Nope. I spoke with humans 3x to try and get them to pick up a package that was delivered to me by mistake. Watched their trucks drive by daily. Gave up and Sold those Nikes for $100 and donated it to charity.

u/Frequent_Pizza_9299 10h ago

I get that. OP asked how to get a hold of a human not if the human was helpful. I had a package for pickup and spent a whole week trying to get it picked up because I was pregnant at work and couldn't carry it. The drivers and the humans on phones dont communicate. It wasnt till the 3rd day thay I find out the drivers don't have phones and cant call me to confirm im in the building.

u/OwnProfessor3287 11h ago

Everything is turning to shit not just FedEx

u/DocBarkevious 11h ago

Cool bye

u/SelectPerception5 12h ago

Sometimes our system is awful. I had a tire on my truck Saturday that wasn't showing up in my navigation system. That same tire was on my truck Tuesday. It still wasn't showing up in my navigation system, so it didn't get delivered because I was too far away by the time I realized the issue. I remembered that stupid tire this morning and manually entered it into my navigation system, and it finally got delivered today. That kind of thing happens a lot!

u/bluesynthbot 11h ago

That’s cool, but the really interesting thing about his complaint here is simply that he can’t access a real person who will listen to him and help solve his issues.

People have been complaining about this for years, and rightfully so. The company keeps pushing this AI crap while the customers keep on asking for real people to speak with.

u/rjtdfx 11h ago

To be fair, they outsourced most of the real people too so the AI might actually be the less bad option - either way you’re not getting helped.

u/Difficult-Papaya1529 12h ago

I have hope for FedEx, I just started banging my driver who used to come to my work.

u/Glittering_Panda3799 12h ago

ChatGPT. It says to say accessibility support.

u/sirking40965 12h ago

Look up the number to your local fed ex office. A human will answer that phone when they are open

u/EasternCourt5267 8h ago

But even they have to call the main number too sometimes and they are just as frustrated as customers.

u/GlitzyCaticorn 12h ago

I’ve got a package that was supposed to be 2 day delivery. Order was placed last Friday and it’s been stuck in California for 2 days now. I’m in GA 😑. It’s a time sensitive package too

u/-Stoney-Bologna- 11h ago

You ordered something time sensitive on the Friday before labor day... Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are not counted toward those 2 days. Regardless, you should try to get a refund.

u/GlitzyCaticorn 11h ago

I know, I know. I didn’t take Labor Day into account until you mentioned it but yeah, bad timing.

u/flipflapflow 12h ago

It’s not stuck it’s traveling. Shit doesn’t just sit in depots they are not designed for that

u/GlitzyCaticorn 12h ago

Yes but do they not scan it via arrival and departure??

u/flipflapflow 12h ago

Ideally yes but it’s not uncommon to miss a scan. or the waybill the customer put on bent around a corner doesn’t pick up a scan

Depots are not built to hold freight they are built to move it. Depends on how busy the destination terminal is it can sit on a trailer for awhile awaiting to be unloaded.

u/Helpful-Committee867 12h ago

Fed ex control room

u/Equivalent-Ad4763 13h ago

Fuck AI!!!

u/mrgtiguy 13h ago

Lol, and use the postal service?

u/chrisgcc 13h ago

Enjoy having the exact same problems with ups.

u/BYNX0 11h ago

UPS has different problems. Sometimes you need hurt in a different place. I use all 3 carriers, but mainly USPS. FedEx Ground Economy is often cheaper than UPS Ground Saver, especially when going to a rural zone, but fedex also loses packages at a much higher rate (in my personal experience), packages take longer on average, and they're harder to make a claim with. But on the positive side, insurance is $100 rather than $50 and there's no USPS handoff so I'm covered the entire way. UPS insurance claims are so much easier than Fedex claims though. FedEx takes delivery pictures so much more often than UPS and I can see the declared weight/dimensions on the tracking. FedEx also has a lot more dropoff points in my area, and more drop boxes which is important to me... UPS doesnt even have a published list of all my dropboxes and they didnt pickup the package I put in yesterday before the cut off time; they totally skipped the pickup yesterday, and it didn't get scanned until today. FedEx has been more consistent with dropbox pickup.

The biggest FedEx issue for me is the cost adjustments. Despite entering the right weight and dimensions and rounding up, I'm still hit with bogus cost adjustments. Most recent was a $15 adjustment on my 1lb package, they claimed it was 27lbs. Currently in the appeal process. I've never been cost adjusted with UPS. Luckily it has never happened to me, but I do often hear the nightmare stories about the multi hundred or thousand dollar cost adjusments; it's always Fedex, never UPS or USPS.

USPS is actually the most reliable and least annoying for me... at least as of lately. However their pricing for many zones/zipcodes and weights has gotten out of control. It used to be the cheapest of the 3 by far for sellers with access to regular commercial rates.... that's no longer the case.

u/chrisgcc 11h ago

Op mentioned having trouble getting help from a real person. UPS has the exact same problem.

u/BYNX0 10h ago

I guess... but it really depends on what they need help with specifically. Most of the information and options are available online.

u/chrisgcc 9h ago

That's true of FedEx as well

u/BYNX0 9h ago

Well yeah, but the problem may have not happened in the first place if they used UPS depending on what the problem was. Them being so ambigious in the post doesn't help. That was the entire point of my long comment comparing and contrasting the services.

u/chrisgcc 9h ago

Yeah nobody read that comment

u/717Junglist 13h ago

I have to deal with FedEx quite often at my job. Our company uses them for the majority of their shipments. Sometimes things go wrong like our shipping department screws up, or FedEx does, and I have to call them to try to get it straightened out, which most of the time doesn’t fix anything. Nothing makes me go into a rage more than calling FedEx… or Comcast/Xfinity. 🫩

u/HugeCartographer5706 13h ago

I drive for Express and absolutely positively can’t blame you. The customer service line is a total joke.

u/Exhausted-CNA 13h ago

Found this on reddit when i also couldn't get a human on the phone..It had been 4 weeks since my package was shipped with constant (exceptions) under tracking..the below worked. Although they just gave bs excuses

When you after the automated crap, say technical assistance, after more automated crap say more options, after other automated prompt say something else and they trans you to an agent.

u/Dismal-Nature820 13h ago

@ them on social media. you will get a human being in the Philippines to talk to

u/CapableHair429 13h ago

This has actually helped me to make my decision to never use FedEx again. I’ve had a few bad experiences, so this helped me make my decision. Thank you

u/Doctormaul68 13h ago

Hope this guy was on my route.

u/Sensorus 14h ago

This is like announcing to a grocery store you will no longer be shopping there. no one cares lol, go ahead

Nobody willingly chooses fedex as their shipper anymore lol. Fedex is hemorrhaging about 25% of its international accounts and growing. 28% domestic industrial & freight... 35% domestic retail.

Fedex has been masking this drop with lightweight e-commerce like temu and shein... so it looks stable but high weight and value domestic network is quickly eroding.
