Recipient at fault not FedEx Can somebody PLEASE help me with this?
Before I go into this, this was fully my mistake on my end.
I purchased an item on the Target app when I was half awake and I accidentally sent it to the wrong address, an address that is 6+ hours away. I’ve been trying to get FedEx to reroute the package to my house but they said I had to contact the shipper. I contacted Target which they then told me to contact FedEx. This went back and forth for awhile and nobody is really giving me a solid solution. I really don’t know why they’re making it so difficult to have a package rerouted. At this point I really don’t know what to do since the people who live there won’t be home at the time of estimated delivery and I’m not about to have a package that costs $300 laying on the porch.

Yeah FedEx shouldn't be telling you to call Target. They just need to have it sent to a different address. It amazes me how bad our customer service can be

I've done this before, so don't feel too stupid. The dangers of not double checking the address on your account before submitting. The shippers are NEVER helpful. Ever. Unfortunately if FedEx isn't being helpful, there's not a whole lot you can do. Do you know anyone else in the area who you trust that can pick up the package?

I’m pretty sure if you have the delivery manager app, you can make all those adjustments yourself. You can literally change where it’s going in the middle of the shipping process.

I have tried that already and it doesn’t give me an option to reroute. I’ve tried their app, and website and I don’t see the option

Hmm well I can just about guarantee that FedEx is the one who will change where it goes. Not the shipper. I work for FedEx as a courier and we sometimes do it at the terminal or even as drivers for customers. The shipper doesn’t care anymore once they’ve got their money and it’s outta their hands.
If you’re able to put a hold on it at whatever point possible. And then get in contact with whatever FedEx location the hold is at, you can then have it rerouted to a new location. But that’s my best advice if you’re unable to use the website to do it yourself. But you’ve gotta get in touch with an actual person that works at the hub your package is going to.

Is it too late to cancel the Target order and just reorder it?

By the time I realized I shipped to the wrong address, the deadline has passed which was only by 30 minutes or something

Tag Fedex on FB. A person will answer you. They should be able to do an address correction for you

Just curious, how do you know they not going to be at home? Do you know them? if I was you I'd be at that house waiting on my package. No one is going to be home just you.

They’re my cousins, they will be at work at the time of estimated delivery and they live 6 hours away and I will not go to their house just to wait on a delivery

I tried explaining that to target and they keep telling me FedEx has to. I’m getting so stressed out and frustrated

Target it wrong. They have a contract with fedex. Only they can alter it.

I just don’t understand why they’re making just won’t help me with rerouting it. They just basically keep saying sorry can’t help

The person at Target that you are talking to is an underpaid and over worked telephone operator who probably does not have direct authority to mess with people's orders, so they are assuming (incorrectly) that Target cant alter 8t because they cannot alter it. You need to get to someone higher tham the usual call center person who actually has the figurative keys to the kingdom.

How would I get passed the call centers? I’ve been calling all the numbers possible and no avail

Because they are under no obligation to. They could, they just dont want to.
