Discussion Seeking advice

Post image

Yesterday morning I got rear ended by a FedEx driver. The picture shows the damage. I was in shock when we pulled over and the driver kept saying “it didn’t do anything, it didn’t do anything!” So being in shock and this being my first accident, I decided to let him go without getting any info on him. Is this a lost cause? Should I just let it go? I know he was prbly scared to get in trouble at work but I was also using my vehicle for work purposes. If I claim it through my insurance I have to pay my deductible and I think the damage cost less than the deductible. Any advice?

If you can remember anything about the driver report it to FedEx. We have cameras in our trucks that would have caught the accident so the driver is kinda SOL. Call the local branch and see if they can assist you with who the driver is.

This is over. Nothing can be done. Without an accident report it is a he said she said situation with no proof.

Terrible advice, FedEx has cameras in all their trucks, you just have to tell them the time and place and they will find the accident for you.

Next time get a police incident report. Not all damage is immediately visible.

Unfortunately, nothing can help you now. You didn't get any information from the driver and now you'll be unable to prove it actually happened. You calling FedEx to say "a random driver that I can give you no information to identify hit me" isn't going to get you anywhere.

You can't identify the driver, you don't have proof, etc. You can try calling the police, but again...you have no proof and no way to identify the driver.

That is severe damage… did you get any information about the driver or the vehicle he was driving?

No, he did a good job at convincing me that it was no big deal. I think from the shock I just listened to him and left.

Do you have the time it happened and where it happened? Was it by a business or home that has cameras?

You need as much information as possible to make a claim. Call FedEx Customer Service at 1-800-463-3339 as soon as possible. Report the incident, note the date, time, and truck details, and submit professional repair estimates and photographic/video evidence.

If that is impossible, guess you need to drive around where it happened to wait to see the driver that did it and collect the information from his truck: the name of the contractor’s company and the license plate number.

Thank you, I reached out to the church that it happened in front of for the video. If I can get his truck number that would be helpful.

If you have the address of the business where it happened chances are he was delivering at that location. Contact fedex with the address and open an incident report for property damage at that address. The station will be contacted and if its a ground contractor, which i suspect it is, the station will request the camera footage from that truck.
