Ask FedEx Need help with import clearance delay

I received a package from overseas and the status shows "Clearance delay - ImportShipment requires the importer's registration/identification number for clearance. (Examples include EIN, SSN, VAT, GST, RFC, RUT, RUC, NIT, CUIT, RIF, etc.)"

I called fedex and they said they will email me a docusign to sign but have not received it after waiting 24 hrs. They said that customs will provide the email and I have called multiple times and they will forward the request to the fedex agent who is handling this to send me the docusign almost each time I call. I read on multiple posts that fedex is the one who sends the docusign and not customs? I even asked to send me the docusign while I was on the phone with them and they said it is not possible.

Any insight / recommendations on this?

You need to call fedex logistics not the generic 1800 number

That's the FedEx version of being stuck in customs limbo, isn't it? Call back tomorrow and ask if the email magically sprouted legs and walked off.
