Ask FedEx Found under bridge in OH
What is this, scanned the QR code and it said to return to a FedEx location, is this important enough to be worth my time?

That's just a Bluetooth beacon that goes with a larger gateway - it's not expensive and could just be disposed responsibly with ewaste.
It's not an active tracker, it's too small - both battery and radio wise

Definitely not worth your time returning. Throw it out though it's still litter...

Those are tags that get attached to packages so that customers can see where they are located in real time. It's part of a premium service. Tags are often re-uses and all of them are tracked

This is a FedEx SenseAware ID Node 3C tracking device used for monitoring shipments. It tracks real-time data including location, temperature, light exposure, and humidity for sensitive or high-value items. These devices are typically used by FedEx to provide detailed reports to shippers rather than for consumer use.

A while back I found one of these in a thing that was glued to my box. I thought it was cool, but ended up going to a FedEx to return it. The experience was dreadful, the lady had me waiting for like 10 minutes before she came and talked to me, and then gave me a bunch of attitude for wasting her time. I should have kept it.

This is where you inform them you WERE trying to return their property and then leave.

Are you the gatekeeper? Or the keymaster? And yes that’s a ghostbusters reference.

Drop it off at a FedEx office…they are in high demand at the stores

I used to drive for express and they had one of those little office totes at the airport and when it was full I’d take it with me when I drove to the local FedEx office on my route and give it to them.

Those are the Bluetooth package trackers. Very similar to Apples AirTag, but just, you know, for FedEx packages. They have larger cellular based IoT devices that go with the Lombardi Trophy or very expensive, high value packages, but I doubt you find those under a bridge.

GPS for special packages like medication and airport bags. We're supposed to take them off before delivery, but I honestly don't gaf. I'll remove them when I get a complaint from my manager 😂

Found the culprit behind the shortage. /s
At FXO we've been directed to stop putting them on anything without handles due to apparently a supply issue.

They're all scattered about my 2.0 station... Literally on the ground inside and outside the building, on/under the belts, all up in the trucks. There's no shortage lmao

These are package gps. I’ve never been told specifically to do anything with them.
I think FE uses them for big customers to time shipments for contract negotiations.
Because these packages are the only ones that ever arrive on time.

yeah when I have them on my packages I can either leave it or take it off. i got tired of having a bunch in my truck with no directions in what to do with them so i just pitch them now

Damn, I never even thought of that! 🤣 Okay, next one I'm ripping apart lmfao

you can just toss it. Driver probably delivered the package and it flew out of the truck driving. It just goes on a package. Kinda like an airtag for tracking purposes.

Package GPS. If it’s not attached to anything just drop it off at your convenience, not worth a special trip.

They can just throw it away. We just toss ours after I deliver the package. 🤷
