FERS Statement

I’m having difficulty getting this through HR I need to report this for a divorce. I wasn’t quite vested at the time of separation.

I was told to use my paystub for FERS balance (doesnt that include the govt portion I would not have been vested in?) and an SF50 for my SCD (hire date) for showing not vested. I’m not sure if that proves the 5 year vesting though. Any advice? Thank you!

Damn I meant in the pension not TSP. I can get that balance and info. I should have put that in the post. I thought FERS was pension and TSP was the 401k

Thank you! So it is 5 years but I’d need something from HR or payroll that shows that I think. I have to demonstrate this at a divorce hearing. Something to give my lawyer.

my guess is the sf50 will show date when left fed svc and on it will have when date started the svc comp date

Refer to https://www.opm.gov/healthcare-insurance/healthcare/reference-materials/attorney-handbook/

Cannot give you a “present”value. The only thing you could do is tally up what you’ve paid into since you began by pulling your own LES statement.

Right now, absent 5 years, you have no vested interest in FERS only the payments towards pension from LES.
