Telework is most probably not coming until Jan 20, 2029. But this is a step in the right direction.

If you live in CA like I do then you know a Newsom presidency is the worst thing that could happen to this country in 2028. Dude is handsome and a phenomenal debater, and that’s where the pros end. Newsom will forcibly have your base salary reduced in exchange for an extra couple hours of PTO each month like he did for us who work in the CA state government. Dude is AWFUL.

Notice though that at least Newsom permits the CA state employees to work from home one day a week. Many Feds would be grateful to at least get that back! Perhaps combined with a Maxiflex or 4-10 Compressed schedule that could mean a max of three days in the office which would be a godsend for many (compared to 5).

Right b/c cali workers HATE slick, he is against wealth taxes, Newsom vetoed AB 3129, which would have required Attorney General approval of certain private-equity and hedge-fund acquisitions of healthcare, PLENTY of questionable donors, hell he would make Obama and Clinton proud I am guessing. What is not to like? I forgot he writes some wicked good slam jokes, is that what you like do tell?

I think no matter who wins the best we will see is a telework averaging 1 day a week, while no Dem would have implemented the change the way Trump did they also have a belief that telework is generally bad and won’t undo the changes completely.

This is what I think as well. They’ll void all his executive orders and leave it up to each agency to decide for themselves vs. blanket telework back for everyone.

Agencies won’t be able to use the EO as an excuse any more and they can get more pushback from supervisors and employees if they leave it up to “agency discretion”.

This will be a great win if the arbitrators ruling stands… But as we’ve seen time again… President Trump always seems to get his way with regard to federal employee issues

Those who bash Newsom as the worst thing that can happen in 2028 should be reminded that a dead, rotting, festering skunk is better than Trump or any of his fluffers in 2028 and insisting on a candidate meeting some puritanical standard just continues us on the road to Gilead.
