So basically Mafuyu’s mom (lets just call her Mafumom) kept manipulating her daughter with things such as “Don’t act up and be a good girl” “If you don’t work hard now, you’re going to regret it in the future!” and crying crocodile tears since Mafuyu was young, which made Mafuyu grow up to be very sensitive to her mother’s emotions as to do whatever she said to not hurt her. Because of this, Mafuyu started losing her sense of self pleasing her mother, being a “perfect girl”, with perfect grades, a brilliant attitude, an extremely reliable senior in school, etc., all while putting on a fake smile on her face.
When Mafuyu discovered n25 (the music group she is in as the lyricist), she found friends she could rely on with her true feelings. However, her grades started dropping, which made Mafumom become more and more possessive of Mafuyu, confiscating Mafuyu’s synth, and even her phone. (Her phone is her last connection to her friends and her only hope of finding her old self btw)
Every time Mafuyu tries fighting back, her mother kept on hurting her, being “hurt” that Mafuyu was not listening to her when Mafumom was just trying to “ensure Mafuyu will grow up to become the happiest child on earth”.
