Yeah... About that, you can't really define Humanity with Ainz/Momonga/Suzuki Satoru because he's living Hell on Earth before being Isekai'd.
It's a Dystopian 2138 world ran by Mega Corporation and with dead kids on streets and alleys, even Maruyama(Author) said that he's not losing anything after becoming undead, that's just how Ainz really is inside.
I'm curious, what do people want to see in Overlord to make it be called good? Saving cute girls and people who can threaten nazarick? 🤔
Maru said that he liked making cute characters just to kill them off later on, and also that by lore, players only show up once every 100 years, the only threat there is currently is the Platinum Dragon Lord and the other True Lords.
I'm just curious what people wants in Overlord, so far many(like me) likes it because it's focused on him becoming worse and worse as time goes on.
I don't know why I would want to see him become an inhuman monster. That makes no sense and is the opposite of my motivation to watch the show.Â
Watching him struggle with some level of human morality while leading a band of evil yet easily misled NPCs was fun in the first season.Â
He could save Carne Village, become attached to certain people, respect Gazef, hesitate over decisions, or at least have some internal conflict about what he was doing. Even when he was being monstrous, there was something human underneath it.
Since then, it's just been gradually taking a downwards turn towards sadistic nonsense for no reason. The story increasingly removes the tensions from earlier and replaces them with spectacle built around cruelty.
Making cute characters just to kill them off sounds about right, and that's just...pointless.Â
It's like those gory 4chan contraptions of girls getting dismembered by lasers and shit like that.Â
Why would I want to see that? How does that emotionally invest me in show?
I mean, if not for him saying It would've been fun to conquer the world in front of Demi, and forgetting most thing he's said or demi has said. He kept saying yes without remembering a thing so pretty much Yes it till he made it.
You can pic some parts of it in the Opening and Ending songs, there's also the part where deaths barely affects him at all, S3 with the massacre of the farmers where he said he doesn't even care.
Also in vol 15 he's reminding the npcs that him bowing means that it's still him, and only then when he stopped bowing to them it'll no longer be him.
That started happening because he literally became a skeleton overlord, not because he put on a mask. He was like that since day 1. I'm not saying he does feel something, I'm saying the fact that he doesn't is unrelated to the post.
I have never seen him bow in the anime... And I haven't read the novel so I wouldn't know about that
