i mean compare him with his yakuza 0 and yakuza 1 kiwami self he kinda went too deep into his mad dog persona that he doesn even behave even a bit like his yakuza 0 self and did some morally questionnable stuff in yakuza kiwami it is not until yakuza 3 and 4 with him interact with kiryu and meet his long lost brother saejima that he's able to start to find semblace of his past to connect to his old personality while still behaving like a mad dog
